Got smoked!

Raced my brother on his modded 450 and got smoked. From what I know he has an: ignition box, esr intake, stock muffler that has been hollowed, out all the way threw and the jetting is right on.

I started off in seconed and was half a bike ahead of him, until the middle of third, after that he pulled on me like crazy. This was all done on a long dirt road. Over and over.

Well I've rode counteless banshee's over the years as well as many people here have. It's just that some of them regardless of the mods are just not in a state of proper tune and really don't run as well as they should or as well as others do. Tons of variables affect this, so really a banshee at any given time regardless of it's mods can and have been beat by stock 450's as well as many other quads. Same thing happened to a buddy of mine after spening 1200 in mods for his Huyabusa. I outran him on my relatively stock 929. This was until he loaded the proper map for his power commander then he was :bolt: .

You can fix that problem for less than the price of a pipe and cam on that 4 stroke. Even a mild port job with pipes and stock carbs should put 5-6 bike lengths on a modded 450 immediately if tuned right...Jim

Oh another thing, dirt roads and Banshee's don't mix well. My nephew did exactly that to me on a stock raptor. A banshee will brake the tires loose sooner because of the power band hit and then it's usually over. I put my wife on the back of my shee and ran it in the grass, totally different story. :bolt:

yeah try to race him on pavement if you can, I can give my cousin a head start on his yfz and still win.  Oh and make sure its not a short race those yfz have a lot of low end.

Definatly does have some major low end,Topend on the other hand,Leave that to the banshee!

word. race him on the road. itll prolly be different. they hook too good in the dirt to be racing them there. banshees spin pretty bad on dirt, at least mine do..

I have holshot tires, 22x11x10 on stock sprockets is this ok?

I didnt have trouble taking him off the line but he passed me quick.

I dont think my bike is tuned right. It has great throttle responce but gets a little weak in fourth and up.
