280's with just a k&n!? That sounds like it would be insanely rich! I have just k&n pods on my shee and I was running 250's (that was in about 40 degrees) and that was almost too rich. A lot of people who run around 280's have pipes and a k&n. Do have any other mods?

I always think everyone one here is running to rich, except for the guys with ported motors. In WI with K&N filter in airbox with 8 - 1 in holes in airbox lid and no snorkel. Also have boysen reeds and old fmf fatties and .020 over with stock jugs. I run 210 on the main and I think the 3rd clip on the needle. Never had any problems and plugs are always perfect. Maybe my shee just likes to run lean.

Do you check the plugs after running it wide open in 6th gear?? Make sure they are brown and not tan...You might be at a higher elevation where the air is thinner. That'll give you leaner jetting. Also make sure the K&N is cleaned w/ the K&N cleaner and not detergents, those will actually clog the K&N.
