Screamin_Demon
I own a 2000 ranger flareside and a stock width shee fits snug, but it gets in there. You will need to lift the front tires over the fender walls if it doesn't want to go in easily. Mine being a stepside and having to load it myself, I built 2 ramps out of wood so the tires would clear the fender walls without having to lift it. Kinda put it at an angle so I had to make sure I strapped it in good. My Webpage... click on truck pics and you'll find my ranger... no pics of the shee in it though. chris642
mine fits in there perfect, but mines all stock as far as width and length go. ahh, those damn wheel wells, its a big pain to get it over them without someone helping you. STLBILL
Hi all: I had a 99 Ranger flareside. I witnessed some guys putting one in a late 90s model flareside once: 1. It took three guys. None were wimps. One was a big 'ol boy. 2. Padding is needed to keep the stock bumper from breaking the back window. 3. If you put it in backwards the tailgate won't close against the bumper. 4. If you have nerf bars or floor boards they will hit the fender wells. 5. It is a very tight fit. Slam the tailgate hard to compress the rear tires. 6. I found it a whole lot easier to get a $500 tilt trailer that can be used for a million other things when not riding. -Bill
brock_fuzzy_69
i have a 6 foot bed ranger with a toolbox on the back yep its a bitch to get over the wheelwells but it can at times be ridden over them for having a toolbox in there i make a 2x4 shelf that sits over the wheelwells to put the front tires on
Dark Ranger
I have a 95 Ranger w/standard bed. I've put it in forward and backwards. Getting over the wheel wells sucks, but two people (or one with ramps or really strong arms) can get it done. My stock front bumper never broke my rear window. Putting it in backwards seemed to be easier for me because the rear wheels stay straight when going over the heel wells. Didn't have much trouble with shutting the tailgate until I extended the swingarm. I also have a trailer that I usually use when I have too much stuff to haul. Nightrider
I had the same problems with my 98' flareside, after I put 22 inch holeshots on the she,it took 3 people to load. I did that for one season and I had enough.Went out and bought a 6.5'x12' trailer, lowered the rails on one side and now I can pull 2 loaded from the side and till get a bike in the bed of the truck.2 quads a bike ,coolers, riding gear and a toolbox all pulled by a 4 cylinder ranger w/5spd.150,000 miles, one set of front brakes, and 4 sets of shocks later, I still use "my little mule" to commute to work. Your next truck will probably be a fullsize, mine was. Edited January 9, 2005 by Nightrider
nater006
On my s10 (fleetside) I still run into the wheel well problems. If you have to load it by yourself, there's a way. 1) get ramps 2) hook a tie-down strap into one of the forward tie downs in the bed, stretch it out to the end of the bed 3) push the quad as far up the ramps as you can, to the wheel wells 4) hook the strap through the frame, grab bar, whatever, and tighten it. I just hold the front brakes while I do this -- doesn't go anywhere 5) climb in the front of the bed, grab the front bumper, and just pull it the rest of the way in, and over the wheel wells. This assumes you can lift the front end of the shee w/o too much difficulty, but, it works on the smaller trucks. baudy
I used to own a '98 Ranger and my Banshee fit in there perfectly. I used to throw it in there with ramps to load it, a gas can and all my accesories. So,to answer your question...YES IT WILL FIT! and you can even close the tailgate! PUSH THE THROTTLE
Your next truck will probably be a fullsize, mine was. 304042[/snapback] Only way to get my widened shee with nerfs in my stepside Ranger was to park it on the top of the rails. Save the headache and get a fullsize I can load my shee by myself without ramps in no time, and a full size is just plain nicer than a Ranger. But I thank you all for your wisdom......I will see soon if mine fits as well.
