BigRed350x
I'm trying to sell my water cooling kit. Its for a desktop computer. It has a radiator, water storage tank, pump, CPU water block, and all hardware/hoses you would need for an average motherboard. $100 If anyone screws around with computers and overclocks their stuff, its a fun mod. bigboybanshee
Something just doesn't sound right about having a liquid cooled PC....I can only imagine if that cooling system sprung a leak

BigRed350x
You use distilled water in the system, so even if it did leak, it wouldnt hurt anything. I have poured entire cups of distilled water on a running motherboard, and it doesn't do anything. I will post pics later tonight.
BigRed350x
If you are wondering, here are the original prices for everything: Radiator: $22 from automotive store Water Block: $75 w/ hardware from online Pump: $30 from home depot Plexi-glass used for water storage: $12 from home depot Hoses & Fittings: $6 from local hardware store I made the goofy little white box out of scrap steel in my garage. It holds everything perfectly though. I held the radiator & stuff in it with zip ties when I used it. With the mounting hardware included, it can be mounted to either of the sizes P4 or AMD Ahtlon XP/64. Two 120mm fans could be fitted to the radiator if you squeeze. Two 90mm fit perfectly when inside the goofy white box thingy. nater006
Only once have I extremely overclocked something... and just strapped a monster Peltier to it with lots o' thermal paste and life was good.
Gargamel
That price is steep for a home made unit. There only like $125 new for a professionally made one. Water cool cpu fan
BigRed350x
Alright dude, look at the image in that link you posted... all the stuff is tiny. My kit was designed as a large unit to cool something that would get really really hot. I can garuntee you that if you ran that little unit at the the speeds we ran mine at, it wouldn't be able to cool anywhere near as well. My radiator made of copper, not aluminum. The water block in the link you posted is tiny. It also says "Material: Copper & Acrylic " Mine is all coper and anodized aluminum, no acrylic. The one you are looking at is a very very simple, small cooling kit, most likely for beginners. "Weight: 453g " My water block is 878g. Do a little bit of research about stuff before you make a post. Of course a light-weight unit is going to cost less, because it doesn't cool as well. And you didn't bother to ask about the weight or materials of my stuff before you posted... Besides, I didn't say I was firm on price. It doesn't matter any more because I sold it on ebay for $118, and they pay shipping. I always post stuff on here before I try and sell it anywhere else because most of the time people on the HQ are cool.

Thermal paste of any kind is most effective if you only place a small single drop over the die of the processor. Anything more than that just makes a huge mess and doesn't do anything to help cool the unit.
Gargamel
now now For one, the one I posted cools on the average of 20 degrees cooler. Yours is a bunch of car parts from an auto store. And my research is fine considering I'm an Electronic engineering student and just happened to spend hours researching that topic last week for a paper. Not trying to get into a pissing match but that's how I see it.
BigRed350x
I have a degree in computer engineering, and I can tell you that it doesn't matter that its car parts its made out of, its the way you assemble everything and use it. The fact that they are car parts means they will be larger and cool more efficiently.
BigRed350x
Where are you going to school? I haven't had to write a paper for any of my engineering career. The last paper I had to write was in high school. Besides, if you are an engineering student there are much better things you could do a paper on than water cooling a computer. Come on...
