bansheeigo Posted January 7, 2005 Report Share Posted January 7, 2005 (edited) I just bought some v-force reeds today and in the instructions it say to put a spacer(its a washer)in between the reed cages and the stock intake manifolds,they only gave me two spacers and two nuts,do i need to put these on?Got pic below,Thanks for the replies. blk02banshee Posted January 7, 2005 Report Share Posted January 7, 2005 It's so that you can fit a hacksaw between there and cut off those lips(forgot the right name) on the stock manifolds. you don't use the washers and nuts for installation. I used a utility knife and then shaved it down the rest of the way a little at a time on an old head resurfacing machine, the kind with the big stone wheel. locogato11283 Posted January 7, 2005 Report Share Posted January 7, 2005 those are not used in the install. they are to help you cut the stock intake boots flush. i said fuck all that and just cut my shit with an exacto knife like rail did. pretty simple and works pretty well.
