Running 100 % 110 Octane on stock motor?

Recommended Posts

I got 5 gallons of 110 yesterday and the guy at the store said run it 100%, ive run it previously in other dirt bikes but never 100%. I normally ran 1 gallon of 110 to 2 gallons of 93. Can i run pure 110 on a stock motor? I didn't think it was any good for it....... info would help greatfully, thanks

Nope totally fine, only damage will be to the pocket book. It is obviously better quality than pump gas but not to justify it's cost for use in a stock motor.

do you guys know what octane should be used a certain compression? for example if i use a cool head with 22cc compared to 18cc? is there some sort of graph.

Over 150lbs, U need to run a higher octane mixture usually 50/50 of 100 or more octane..

From DLNOSS website

Approximate Cranking Compression

These pressures are estimates based on fresh stock bore, piston, porting, and deck height.

It is recommended to check your compression after installation.

Sea Level 1000' 2000' 3000' 4000' 5000'

18cc 238 229 221 213 205 198

19cc 211 203 196 189 182 175

20cc 184 177 171 165 158 153

21cc 157 151 146 140 136 130

stock 130 125 120 116 112 107

Hope this helps out

dlnoss knows alot about that. I think 18 or 19 cc domes is the breaking point where you should be using race gas or 50/50.

i run 17 octane and i have stock domes and it runs fine..for those of you who say it doesnt enhance performance I beg to differ....I noticed when i went from 93 to 110 and then again from 110 to 117...big diff..

its very possible that you may have noticed a diference. Higher octane fuel will help your shee run cooler. when a motor gets hot it is less efficient and looses power. So what you probably noticed is the little extra boost you got from the motor staying cool. Just what I discovered back when my motor was stock.
