I was curious how you tell if shocks are stock lengh or +2?

My shee is at home in the nice warm garage,

(snuggled up with some hot coco probably)

And I got my new works shocks today, but they look like

to me that they are stock and not +2

I can wait till I get home to hold them up to the stock ones,

but wondered if anyone knew off the top of their head

the lengh of stock front shocks and the lengh of +2

shocks as well.

Thanks

as far as I know the length of the shocks is the same, just different valving/spring rate etc.however I believe the works shocks have about an inch more travel than stock shocks. not positive, but that is what I have been told, I currently run works shocks, and was told I could have them rebuilt/revalved etc. when I get the +2 arms.

I had a talk with Works about their shocks a while back. They told me their +2 shock was a 1/4 inch longer than stock and had only 4 inches of travel. Their stock shock is stock length with 4 1/2 inches of travel. Both the +2 and stock Works shock will only allow 9 inches of wheel travel if on the set of a-arms they were built for. I don't agree with what they are doing I would want more travel on a +2 set of a-arms. You may not be able to bolt on a set of +2 shocks on a stock set of a-arms without compressing the shock to get it in the mount. I ran in to this when I bought a set of +2 a-arms from Wicked Products and couldn't get my +2 Works shocks to fit, the problem was the Wicked a-arm ball joints bottomed out before the shock did.

To fix the problem with the Wicked Products a-arms I sold a-arms at a loss since the SOB at Wicked wouldn't admit he had the ball joints at to much of a angle. To fix the +2 shocks on my stock a-arms I bought a set of used dual rate works and have been looking at a set of new +2 shocks hanging over my workbench. I am working at building a set of +2 a-arms for those pretty shocks I have been looking at.
