05bansh
I am getting ready to put on my cpi pipes as in the next week. Any recccomendations on the install? As of getting the best seal? Also does anyone know what size exhuast clamp will fit the cpi's? And last but not least...is it reccomended to use exhaust hangers when installing? Thanks in advance! Big Blue
youll probably have to cut the two mounting brackets off of the frame for the stock pipes CPI"S will probably hit them.
Schizo
CPI silencers are supposed to mount directly to the frame but i had to use hangers to get them to seal right. My sons are mounted to the frame and they seal just fine....go figure.
Big Blue
Yep CPI's arent known for the quality fitment, the set i had sucked i had to dent the pipe to keep it from rubbing on the head.
05bansh
Well I went down to the wheeler shop today with my brother to get some stuff for his yfz, and my pipes came in early! woo hoo!
FireHead
I used Cascade hangers and their clamps made specifically for the CPI's. I would recommend cutting the stock pipe bumpers off of the frame. In addition make sure you have new o-rings in the pipes and new springs. FMF sell a very nice kit for that has the o-rings and springs in it.

enFORCER
And that's with the inframes I had..... The out-of frame pipe's are just as bad.....
NugShee
mine bolted right up with no problem. I didnt need to cut anything on the frame or use any extenders of any kind. I dont use pipe clamps as where the silencer and the pipe meet is a very tight fit anyways. Just greese up the part that fits on the head really good. Goop that stuff on there so you dont have a airleak. Give them a try before you start hacking at your frame. Good luck
05bansh
Well the installation went well. I did have to cut off the bumpers off the frame, and trim a little plastic off my front fenders. I got it all re-jetted so now I cant wait to ride it! I want summer already!!
