loganskinner Posted December 22, 2004 Report Share Posted December 22, 2004 well guys, i had a wreck a few months back and i thought it was all over with. today i got a message telling me that the lady i hit is claiming to be hurt (actually shes claiming that i pretty much crippled her) and my insurance (state farm) is working out a settlement with her and its costing me big time. i dont have much to sell, but i do need some funds. all i can find is my new house speakers. they are still in the box, and are brand new. they are towers for a home entertainment system i think they have a 10" sub in each, plus a smaller speaker and a tweeter. they have oil injected rims, and are top of the line. i payed about 1300 a piece for the towers and the price is still on the box. just make me an offer. ill pay shipping. ill consider ANY offer at this point so if you are interested, please let me know. they are very very nice. i was going to put them in my new house when i moved in the first of the year but i guess thats probably not gonna happen now either. also if anyone wants some yellow Maier plastics with a red and black and white flame alba graphix kit let me know also. ill try to post a pic of them up later Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Did you just have basic 10/20/10 insurance? 296503[/snapback] RN ill get a pic a little later today. the speakers are very nice. i think its a company called Digital Research, or something like that. we hooked one of them up to my radio and holy crap it had some serious thump. i have to go get them out of storage to take a pic. when i bought them the guy kept telling me about the "oil injected rims and cones" and i dont know what that means but appearantly it gives the speakers more flex and no other speaker has it or something. and i too know that the lady's insurance co. talked her into it. i mean the wreck was less than 10 mph, no damage to my truck at all, but it took out the bumper on her car. what happened was that she pulled out in front of me and stalled. she didnt hit the brakes and it was later in the evening, and she had no lights on. so i saw no brake lights or tail lights at all. i was going to turn right so i slowed down and WHAM MOTHA! i dunno. and yea all i got is the basic shit. If she pulled in front of you, no matter the conditions, and you have to alter your course, i.e. turning, hitting your brakes, she has broken the law. My nephew had a massive 76 CJ that he ended up parking on the trunk and rear window of some guys car one night. The guy claims he was just sitting there and my nephew ran over him. The cops inspected the the tail lights, and found that they weren't even broken from the wreck. Upon further investigation they found the bulbs were burned out. And when the cops started looking at things, they found that the guy wasn't in the center turning lane, but right in the lane of travel. So, even though it looked like my nephew rear ended someone at 40 mph and was at fault, after a little investigation they found a bunch of other stuff that got him completely off the hook, and the other guy went to jail for the warrant he had. If they are more, then they will have to prove it in a court of law. Generally they will find each person at a certain percentage of fault in relation to the accident. The bad part is that if she is awarded more than your coverage allows you will have to pay the rest out of pocket. Otherwise it shouldn't cost you a dime IF and when this happens. Your insurance will pay for her damages and will pay for a lawyer to defend you if it goes to court. The only money you should have to come up with is if there is damage to your car and you did not buy coverage for your car. In that case you will have to pay for the repairs to your car out of your pocket. If she hit you and had no insurance, your insurance should pay for your damage under the un-insured motorist coverage that is a basic requirement in Illinois at least. I had $1200 damage to the truck and about $2000 for the doctor and chiropractor. I walked away with a whopping $3600 for the time lost at work and suffering. She must have a damn good lawyer. jeepman137 Posted December 22, 2004 Report Share Posted December 22, 2004 do you know if she was really even hurt? or is she trying to milk some money out of you... my friends bitchy ex-aunt got rear ended, has just a tiny bit of stress or something on her back bones or something, and she claimed this massive injury, had like 6 months of physical therapy, and got somewhere around $10,000 from the guy, and the guy was pulling up to a stop light, was on the phone, and just rammed the car at like 12 MPH, didnt do anything to her car except some scratches to her rear bumper because she was driving a focus, and he was in a corvette, so he front bumper actually went under the focuses back bumper and lifted it up, but basically this kids aunt is a bitch and just wanted to get some $$ out of it...
