Personally I've always thought that the best way to get in shape for something is to keep practicing it. Somethings are hard to practice for but riding isn't one of them. You live in the country so build a track and ride it everyday make changes to it as necessary and you'll get used to it and become a better rider at the same time.

im 5' 11" and 14 yars old and weigh 180 and what i do to stay in shape is ride bicycles long distance like, 8-12 miles AS MUCH AS I CAN and it also wouldnt hurt to use those weights you have so you can throw your quad around easier also like push the throttle said ride your quad as much as you can so your comftorble with it and can ride it as hard as you can

Go to a podiatrist and see if you can get some inserts for your shoes. My friend runs and has flat feet and got some and it helped a lot. A good jog once a day will build your endurance up real nice, which is what you need. Also try getting ahold of some free weights if you dont all ready have them. If you do decide to lift dont lift a lot but lift moderate weight and do as many reps as you can, this will also help with endurance. Also just practice riding a lot, try finding a track that you can practice on or build your own and make it real rough with lots of moguls. Try running more practice laps, then what you would run in an actual race. Me and my friend would race at our track and go for 10 laps strait, then take a break, and then race around a little more. A few weeks of doing that really helped us do better in races.

Work out & keep at it. At your age, you oughta be starting to hit the weight room. Get yourself on a schedule & stick to it, eat a balanced diet, run--your flat feet will figure it out(tried shoe inserts/arch supports?), nothing comes easy when it comes to losing weight & staying in shape. Here's a fairly good site for more info: Click Here

Exactly...RIDE. Ride until it hurts and then ride some more

ive found the best way to get a workout that hurts for about the first week that you do it, is to ride whoops. ride them just fast enough that you arent jumping them and you have to tighten your stomach a lot, and ride them for as long as you can. your whole body will be sore the next day, but keep at it and in no time you will have a rock hard stomach, and arm pump wont really be a problem.

Running is by far the best and fastest way to loose weight and build cardio strength and leg endurance. Next to that would be cycling, either road or mountain biking. You need to go for at least 40 minutes at either to really see results. That does not mean full spead, pick a pace and stick with it. It is going to hurt the first couple weeks no matter what you do. Get the cardio stuff first, then hit the weights. (loose weight, then gain muscle weight).

PS- Ride Time is incredibly valuable too. Always ride with purpose though. Hammer whoops, when you get to tired for that, work on jumps, when to tired for that focus on your cornering, when to tired for that just simply slow down and work on your form, leaning, positioning, rhythem, when to tired for that, get off the bike before you wreck. The ultimate question is "how bad do you want it"?

Actually running isn't the best workout. Not only is it hard on the joints but its not nearly as efficient of a calorie burner as kayaking is. Paddling ranks first for burning calories and building endurance, followed by swimming, running takes third.

I've never been into weights or gyms myself. You can get surprisenly big with nothing more than using your own body mass. Pushups, situps, crunches, obliques, pullups, lunges, jumping jacks, etc. all work VERY well. Best of all its free and you can do it anywhere.
