Testimonial for Amsoil 100:1

I've been doing a little emailing back and forth with Jeff Robbins of JJ&A racing about an aluminum axle and as a side point he noticed that I sell Amsoil. He said he has been running 100:1 for 20+ years. When I asked him to explain he said this...

Me:

Amsoil at 100:1 is some good stuff. I run it in mine at 80:1 but I'm curious what engine mods you have and if your engine is "nikasil'd" {doubt I have the spelling right}. I heard one guy who said he has run as high as 128:1 but his engine was plated with that stuff first so in my book that kinda presents a debate... is it the oil or the plating?

I'd love to hear your comments.

Him:

I usually run AmsOil @ 128:1 (and have often ran @ 150:1) I've been told that the AmsOil tests are done at 200:1 but not sure if that is true. I do know it will run all day long @ 150:1 - but try to convince anyone!

My Banshee is 565cc (550 Jet-Ski pistons on a 10 mil stroker crank) with good ol' cast iron custom-built sleeves. Coated cylinder walls are not for me. Hasn't been apart for 3 seasons! When I do disassemble it, there is always plenty of blue/green oil in the crankcase so I know everything's cool.

So for those who have doubts about Amsoil or mixing at 80:1 or 100:1 here's some proof it's OK. I'm still convinced that most engine failures that are blamed on oil are really air leaks or lack of other maintenance.

I have been running this oil at 50:1 mixed with 93 octance, since I got my banshee in 2001, and have yet to change plugs or rebuild.

I dont get to ride alot with my full time job, but Id say I have at least 50 hours in the last year and a half. still runs as good as the day I got her

Castrol TTS - Fully Synthetic 2-Cycle Motorcycle Oil

Extreme protection at maximum RPM! Castrol TTS provides new levels of engine efficiency, with levels of wear protection that exceed the best competitor oils Castrol could find, and exceptional engine cleanliness. This gives reduced fuel consumption, extended engine life and minimized environmental impact, enabling manufacturers to develop smaller engines with even more power for the next century.

I use this oil 40:1 usually with 98 octane fuel.

I normally use castrol MTX gearbox oil but i think castrol doenst make the mtx oil anymore.
