Engine Ice

The directions on the jug says not to mix/dilute and to flush the system first and then fill with engine ice. Will engine ice not get along with standard radiator fluid or water that's in the system? Do I need to drain the system and flush with water and try to drain out every OZ of water in the system, or just keep it simple and drain whats in it and fill? I'm a moron for having to ask this question but this shits pricy and I'd like it to last a long time so I figured I'd ask. I got 2ea x (2 quart=64oz) containers, that should be plenty right?

Thanks in advance.

The right way is to completly flush with water, but I just drained out the old and put that in without any problems. You have plenty and will have quite a bit left over.

I know what you mean I went through 4 bottles last season when I had trouble with my cool head domes. Thats like $100 jsut in coolant!

you will hav about 1/6th of a bottle left after you drain all your coolant assuming you have a normal size radiator.

I always told not to mix red/green coolant together.... I always buy 2 bottles of engine ice at a time in case I fuck up... which I'm prone to do.

like i said never seen any ill affect. i used a product once on a friends car to try and get it home called block sealer. basically it fixes blown head gaskets and such. but it is not supost to be mixed with coolant ( we did not read the bottle ) pored it in a it clumped up and cloged the radiator..

this would be my only concern with mixing th ice with collant but that did not happen and bike does not run hot so i dont know may be a way of selling more and making more money.?

allegedly, it will mix with the glycol in regular coolant and will gum up, thus clogging your radiator.

Hmmm, gues I will try to hold a hose to the line into the radiator (from the water pump) and flush the whole system out then.

i just went to the grocery store and bought a couple gallons of distilled water. pull the water pump cover off and also the radiator cap. and start pouring it in till it comes out clear. i think the instructions on the bottle say to use ditilled water instead of tap water.
