Amsoil ?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys i know a lot of you run this amsoil in your bike, and I'd like to find out why. When i bought my banshee the guy ran amsoil 50:1 in it, i thought that was pretty dang lean but i noticed a lot of you are running 80:1. Im very concerned about that, but a lot of people are saying amsoil is probably the best oil to be running. A local dealer finally got it in, so im able to buy it now, i was wondering all about it. Im running 32:1 yamalube right now, so to move up to 50:1 or 80:1 kinda makes me wonder. What do you think?

There are several formulas that Amsoil has. One of the problems I've heard of is people mixing the various formulas at the wrong ratios. I sell Amsoil and use Amsoil. I run the 100:1 formula at 80:1 which is no problem. It is sold in small bottles and 1 bottle mixed with 5 gallons is 80:1 or 6 gallons is 100:1. So it is super easy to mix. It's also very affordable. They have injector oil, a combination injector/premix oil and their racing formula. One guy that was on here bad mouthing Amsoil had used their racing formula but mixed it at 80:1 which it is not designed for and then he was crying that his engine had a melt down.

I run my banshee, basically stock engine with reeds, Trinity pipes and Toomey 2:1 filter ALL YEAR ROUND and never mess with the jetting or the premix... Always 80:1. When I ride in the winter I run at high revs for hours and have never even had a hint of a problem. I used to run Yamalube at 40:1 and switched directly to Amsoil. Maybe I'm one in a million but when I want to ride, I ride no matter what time of year it is and have never had a problem.

If you plan to use alot of it, you can become a preferred member of Amsoil and buy direct for as little as $10 and you can be a dealer for as little as $30 a year. I can't think of a reason to use anything else.

There is only 2 oils I would even consider using in a high performance 2 stroke or motorcycles and that is Amsoil or Mobil 1. To me these oils are second to none but prefer Mobil due to the immediate availability over Amsoil. I think these are the best the synthetic world has to offer.

Does it really matter which amsoil one you use? I see there's a couple different kinds, what would you go with? You mentioned the 100:1 formula, around what price is that at? I noticed down at the shop they had 32 ounce bottles of amsoil for 5.25 so its really hard to pass up!

It all depends on your mods and what ratio you are comfortable with. The dealer cost for the 100:1 is only $2.30 a bottle which will mix 5 gallons at 80:1 or 6 gallons at 100:1. Send me an email and I can give you a quote on the best oil for you... IHRbearings@peoplepc.com
