williamjernigan
I am trying to take my end nut off my axle where the cotter pin goes through but I have tried and already snaped off an extension in a socket. Ive taken them off before on other quads and I have never had this much trouble. Should I maybe put a little heat to that sucker. Also just curious as to what you guys use to take off the two axle locking nuts.

A little heat would probably help too. for the axle nuts i used a motion pro shock wrench. I bought mine from the local Yamaha dealer. You might have to order one but they work very good. Schizo
An impact wrench works wonders on all those hard to get off nuts....and 2 pipe wrenches will break those locking nuts loose. Lepew
Heat will help either nut come off. I tend to use it as a last resort since it ruins the finish. Make sure you rigidly hold the axle and use the most rigid tool to break it loose. If locktite was used slowly put a little heat to it and it will release the locktite before the finish on the nuts is ruined.

Wallrat
You can get an electric impact at harbor freight for like $40. It'll handle any job you have on a atv. Worth its weight in gold IMO.

I'd be leary of heat myself I just don't like messing with material properties of the axle. I use an impact only takes but a second.
BdBanshee
Try removing the tire and wheel first, then you can get a large wrench on it instead of a socket.
