wickedSS
I have to be under 94 DB, and I hear the CPI inframes will be too loud. Any idea on how I can get them in legally or will I have to switch pipes? What do you think? What pipes are will clear the sound level but not choke my motor out---rockets / shearer / ? nater006
i'm at the same dilemma, same place, with my T5s. the suggestion was to use stock silencers with them. You may have to cut and weld but that will quiet them down past the 94dB range and give you the spark molesters that they require also. Not sure how they'll fit with your CPI's but with the right facilities and ambition you could get the stockers onto them probably.
FireHead
The Cascade CFX silencers work with the CPI's and lowering your db's are what they are designed for. Cehck 'em out. They were made to be a fix for Banshee owners that had to meet Oregon's dune sound requirements, but then allow you you to not have to purchase another brand of pipe. They make them for quite a few bikes now. Clicky Cliky
NugShee
I wouldnt worry to much about them. Theres usually a ton of bikes louder then my cpi's here at the Oregon Dunes and when you see a cop just go the other way. Sometimes you have to sit in the parking lot and wait for the sherrif to leave but he's usally got his eye on someone else anyway. I think the piped 4 strokes are a lot louder then the CPI's so there shouldnt be much of a problem.
wickedSS
Putting stockers on is not an option. I'd rather buy new pipes than have my bike look terrible. For spark arrestors I wonder if I could get away w/ chicken wire in the current CPI silencers so when they poke it, there is resistance. sheefreak
I am at 94db at Silver Lake w/fmf fatties, pc2 silencers, and sparky spark arrestors.
bansheeryder_69
park at a place where you can easily get the heck out of there and if the popos go to stop you "gun it and run it"
BigRed350x
I run a set of old old answer silencers and have found a way to nig-rig them to just about every pipe I own. They are quiet 95db and I don't notice any loss of power between those and the silencers that came with my sst's. Maybe a little tiny bit, but nothing I am going to sit around and bitch about for the noise level.
420 RACING
I am in MI too!!! They are pretty strict about arresters but noise, I am runnin CPI inframes and pass the test at 97db. State law is 95 but they let 98 into the park thank god.And that was with home made sparkys
