Eric Gorr porting---in here !

I ride dunes--I like to drag race and I need a powerful reliable bike.

I know his porting would be a reliable bike, but I'm worried about the power.

Will this port job run against a A & S, Passion, Patriot, etc ported motor? With all things equal will it even come close?

The price is right and I've heard good things about him but I'm just worried it won't be enough for me.

His whole site is for bikes.  How much was it to port you banshee top end?  Did you get the head work done as well?  What all did you get and for what price?

Thanks

I got the woods port. I dont really know the specs on it. I didnt have head work done. I paid around 200 for my port. Money very well spent.

STCLARK, How does that woods port compare to your YFZ?

There is no comparison. My banshee absolutely will tear my 450 up in everything. Trails, Drag, Hillclimb.. Except for jumping. With the mods and gearing that I have, it runs awesome. Got a low end port with the top end add ons; 33mm carbs, T-5s, gearing. It took me a while to figure out how to make it run the way I wanted it to. At first, for gearing I tried, 12/41, 13/41, 14/41, 14/41, 16/41, 17/41 and now Im running 16/44. I wasnt real happy with the port at first, but then when I started using the higher gearing, is when I really fell in love with the power. If ur close enough, come on to good ol st joe and you can have a test ride. I dont think anyone would be disappointed on how my bike runs.

Like I've said before, I haven't ran mine a whole lot yet, and haven't rode it away from the house. I haven't messed with the gearing at all, smaller sprockets just got here (40 was smallest I had), gonna go to a 39 next and see how that works on the back.

For power, shee pulls a lot lot harder from low rpms and keeps building smooth into an insane midrange pull. I can easily pull her up in 4th in the pasture on wet grass and could barely do that in 3rd on wet grass before. (Wet is all we have here in TX at the moment.) I'm not getting near as good of traction as before, due to the extra power, so gearing and the new tires I ordered should help that.

I haven't raced any 450s, but I know where there are 3 just waiting, and that'll be happening soon enough. I was spankin stock 450s and staying with good modified ones and got beat by one decently modified one with my stock and tired top end, I'll be eating their lunch for sure now, especially after I gear up.

At this time, I have zero complaints about the portwork. It runs hard and seems pretty easy to get dialed in. I have the same port job as Mr. Clark above, but different pipes.

my brother took 3rd place at the midwest championship hillclimb event. its all the best hillclimbers from missouri, kansas, illinois, minnesota, iowa and wisconsin. 4th place wasnt even close to his times and he had an 8mm stroker setup. gorr's $200 woods port was easily keeping up with my $500+ 4mm porting. and actually the bottom end to mid range was killing me. if you want an extremely reliable hard running engine for not a lot of cash i bet you wont find a better one than gorr's woods port.

Yep, I just waited till I needed a new top end, and sent it to him.  He ported, bored/honed and sent new piston and rings (ProLites) for right at 4 bills with shipping.  Good deal if you ask me.  I haven't ridden any other ported banshees, so I can't compare to other portjobs, but I'm gonna dyno here in the next week or so.

Hell of a deal. I was figuring on 3 bills for the pistons and boring alone. Hadn

I did forget to mention that. I took 3rd at the midwest championship for hillclimbing. 4th place guy was running an 8 mm stroker and wasnt very close to my time at all. Id say mine runs ok.
