Bignutt
I found a guy thats having a baby and is needing to sell his Banshee. I have never riden a Banshee or hardley any sport quad for that matter, but I've always wanted one if I could get a good deal. Anyways he is getting pics and he says its in good conditon with the usualy scrathes on the plastic and there ia a dent or two in the pipe and some minor rust on the pipe. 2002 Banshee (white/black) - Maxxis Razr rear tires - Maxxis Pros front - FMF pipes w/ silencers - Noss Machine head w/ 21cc domes (whats this mean?) - timing advance key - Jet kit - Pro Design intake kit - Pro Design inline cooler - Durablue rear axle - Barret complete clutch kit (in box) He said stock it dynoed 31 rwhp and it now puts out 43rwhp. He said he has to get $2500 for it. Is this a good deal? What all do I need to look at when I go look at this atv? I know its a high performance machine and I have no clue whee all to look for. Also what do you think this atvs top speed is? Thanks, Zach

banshee76179
It sounds like a good deal..Do a compression check.... Get a tester and check each cylinder stock should be around the 120 range.. Screw in the tester on 1 side hold the throttle all the way in in and kick until it stops rising and make sure it holds that reading and it doesn't decrease on pressure.. both side should be equal or pretty close to equal. Exactly where do I screw it in and the procedure? I'm sorry just new to all this.
y2kbanshee9187
sounds like a good deal to me, go for it. I got a 2000 a few months ago for $2200 with a single carb conversion, bored .20 over, maxxis tires, cool head, and wiseco pisotons. People told me i got a good deal+very happy with it. patrolman808
Doesn't sound too bad. I had a buddy who just sold a '01 that only had 1 tank of gas through it for $1500. Now that was a steal. I should have got it
Bignutt
Pics: http://community.webshots.com/album/221990698PIvKys It must have been left outside cayuse it has some rust, but I am not too worried about that. What do you guys think? If its not a good deal I won't buy it. I was thinking I could clean it up and resale it for more if anything. ledofthezep
I was thinking I could clean it up and resale it for more if anything. Exactly...it's not in that bad of shape...nothing some cleaning & maintinance won't fix. It's always fun to re-build anyways.
Bignutt
Talked to the owner he said he hasn't ever had to touch it for repairs and the engine is all original. He said the clutch is just barley starting to slip so he got the clutch kit. He said he would install it for me if I buy it. He said he hasn't driven it much at all the two years he has had it, the original owner had it for driving around the neighborwood and he tradeed it to the current owner for a jet ski. He also said it got up to 91mph in some kinda test, but he said on theroad it would be in the 80s top speed. He said all the mods minus the pipe were done by the current owner about 1.5 yrs. ago, but he said he has driven it very little since then. So guys how often do these engines have to be rebuilt, etc? I don't know the mileage of this one and hope it won't need to be messed with for atleast a little while. How much does a rebuild usually run? It does have a new top end on it that has low mileage. Just wanting to know what kinda upkeep and maintanance these Banshees need to have? I know its alot more than my utility atvs I am used to, but they can't go 80mph either, lol.
