It wasn't really fast or anything but overall it wasn't bad at all. I wouldn't buy one but also wouldn't knock anyone who did. just my .02 Big Blue's brother has a KFX400 (pretty much the same thing) and his quad was really tight... Once my wife rode it, her Warrior got parked and the Z became her's. They are fun to ride and wheelie easy. I wouldn't trade my Banshee for one, but I like riding it sometimes. Ducman Posted November 18, 2004 Report Share Posted November 18, 2004 The Z-400 has a torquy motor but has crappy top end HP. Realy flat on top. Other than that they are pretty decent. However, put a high compression piston, cams, a ported head, and a full exhaust system on and they are a totally different machine and could easily hang with a piped YFZ 450. Although I'd still take the 450. The Articat 400, same thing as the Z W/ better plastics can be bought for like $5500 OTD, thats a very good value compared to $8k OTD for the YFZ. I almost bought one for my wife but she talked me into the YFZ, didn't take much persuasion. What can I say, the YFZ just kicks ass and was beggin to go home with her. Unless he sinks a few grand in it, take him to the dunes and he'll see, don't think his Z will give your Banshee too much comp...and it's always nice to have a thumper around in case you need to get towed back to camp lol!
