pimpeinkc
hey guys, when i bought my banshee, it had, coolhead w/17cc domes and T-5 exaust.... and it would pull the front end up in 4th and even 5th out on the street in front of my house. since i bought it, i changed to T-6 exaust added rad valves a dyna ignition, and it just don't seem to pull as hard and also doesn't have that big hit when the powerband kicks in. it is still fast as hell but i thought i would look to the collective and see what other ideas and opinions i could get before i start swaping out parts. THANKS IN ADVANCE
sredish
It might be the pipes. If you still have the T5s, throw em on and see if the "hit" comes back. Also, have you checked your jetting, the T6s may require a slight change in jetting and that could make you a little lean or rich, either way, you'll be a little down on power. What about cylinder compression? How old is the motor and when's the last time a fresh top end was put in it?
pimpeinkc
well, last trip to the dunes i locked it up. so i will be putting in a new top end. but i noticed the difference right away. weird
dynabanshee
Yea, go back to the T-5's. Also the rad valves might have required jetting change too. I've never ran T-6's, but everyone I have ever talked to that has said they would run 5's over 6's any day of the week. Everyone has their preferences though, that's why their are so many different pipes.
Wassup350
I heard that the T-6 pipes are more of a bottom end pipe. A dude i talked to had em on his SHee and said that the power kicks in very quickly.
01bansheeke
u live in kc man? just wondering. I do anyway, you may want to think about those domes too. Could be one of the reason its locked up. What kind of gas do you run?
NYUK
did you rejet when you changed pipes? that may be the reason it seized. any change to intake or exhaust requires at least a plug chop to see if its jetted correctly.just because you put on a couple of different parts doesn t mean that combo is going to work neccisarily better together. does your bike have any portwork? 17cc domes seems pretty tight. dlnoss
Yea, I'd check the compression. Unless the porting is pretty extreme, 17cc domes are pretty small. What gas are you running?
locogato11283
id start with the pipes. go back to t5's. then what kinda gas? those 17cc domes might be killin your power if you are runnin without race gas. did you do some rejetting when u changed all this stuff? sheerider11
yep definetly the pipes with the t-6s you lose power with more mods
Leadfoot350
Get rid of those t-6's
Ducman
Did you try flipping the switch to the different settings on the dyna ignition? I think there are 4 switch settings, one stock and three modded timing cureves. I know a local tuner that said his bike runs like crap on one of the settings and is awsone on another. Just a thought. FIRST BANSHEE
t-6s were made for a stock port engine,i'm happy with mine. The rad valve is pretty restrictive, I noticed a big difference between the rad valve and delta 2s. sounds like you also need good fuel, and always recheck your jetting with any mod that has to do with air or fuel. BANSHEES ARE THE SHIT!!
hows your crank ??? may need to rebuild it
Big Blue
I would say it is your jetting more than anthing the set of rad valves i had looked pretty restrictive even compare to stock.
