BradDaMan Posted November 16, 2004 Report Share Posted November 16, 2004 I just bought a 97 banshee and I have noticed that its harder to shift compared to my friends banshee. you have to pull up harder to shift up, any ideas? it is a little difficult to get into neutral too. Not saying this is definitely the cause, but the fluid could be old or not a very good brand or something and that can make gear engagement a little more difficult. I'd change the fluid and get a recommended brand. I personally run Silkolene Comp Gear designed for that type of application. BenBB Posted November 16, 2004 Report Share Posted November 16, 2004 Right on Fixitrod, BTW my shift shaft had just skipped on the shift star nubs, just had to pull the clutch cover & shift lever to move it out a little and it recentered. Anyway, BradDaMan, this might not be relavent, but there's an outside chance that just moving the shift lever up or down a spline will improve your shifting (of course it won't if something is fucked up inside).
