Riding the shee off a cliff...

Im so pissed. The shee idles way to high and the idle screw doesnt do anything. Im always worried about running too lean or rich, and I dont know the first thing about how to jet even though I've read everything here and elsewhere on the net. Im sick of seeing everyone else's kick ass fast ass banshee's and mine is still all gayed up. If I cant get all this shit straight, I swear to god Im going to go ballistic and drive the shee off a cliff with me still on it. Or sell it, whichever.

first of all tell us all you know about the shee. did it run fine and just stop working or did you do something to it now it wont run right. fill us in on a few things and we can help. you have to listen to us though. Dont give up, shee will run once again :)

Maybe you have everything perfect and you're just being punished by the almighty because of your Jesus Saves sig? I think I saw pics of your plugs in another thread and they looked way to rich. Search for the jetting FAQ and read it, then go through it step by step and if you need more help post in the jetting section.

Ok. From the top, here we go. I bought the shee, it ran fine. A few months later a piston ring blew on the left side. Rebuild...new wiseco pistons, bored out, new gaskets, new reeds and cages. Head is pitted on the left side still (buying a new head soon.) Anyway, rebuild, broke in engine fine. Left side feels too hot for my liking, but runs good. Well, Ive never ridden any other banshee before, so I dont know what its supposed to feel like. Right, so I dont know why, but it idles too high. adjusted the idle screws, no change at all. It feels like there is no power. I have symptoms both a lean and rich engine. From the faq, here is what Ive got...Rich-whenever you have the throttle pinned (or Wide Open Throttle=WOT), the motor doesn't continue building RPM, plugs are black and wet. Lean-hesitation,or revving high & fast with no power, , when you start it up with the choke "on" it's fine, but when you turn the choke off it idles very high So what the hell?

Go through this:

Q#10:I have a bog or hesitation right off idle, OR an erratic idle, OR a very high or low idle...

A#10:Since the problem is between 0 and 1/8 throttle, the pilot/airscrew circuit may be rich or lean, and you may need to also adjust the idle speed screws and check the carb synchronization (see Q#23 & 24).

Nickxc has been helping alot. I just took off the carbs and the cable was disconnected inside the TORS housing on the left side. I think that was why it would idle high, all the extra gas and air going into other carb through the vent hose that connects them? Correct me if Im wrong. Also, the trottle cable is cracked at the houseing where they split in two, right before the TORS. I guess it got hung up and the slack in the cable unhooked it self in the TORS houseing. I dont know if Im making sense but it sounds right to me.

The crack/chip.
