I went down today and got a dremel with those little polish wheels! And damn thiose thigns go fast! Heres what i did in a half an hour: Left Carb Bowl (Not Done), Right Carb Bowl (Done) I used the demel sander thingy, then 80 grit sand paper, then 40 grit sand paper, then this reallllly tiny tiny grit wet sand paper. Then i polished with dremel. Its alot of fun! Tell me what you think? Cheers
RNBRAD
Looks good!!! Have you ever tried those 3m Scotchbrite roloc discs. They come in different sizes like 2" and up. There have different coarse pads and used with an angle air grinder sure takes a lot of the handwork out of it.

Im confused lol, all i really use is steel wool and sand paper and mothers and a dremel or my hand... It seems to work pretty good. I like to know that im puttin my own sweat into it... I dont like other people doin it for me, unless that is fi ti takes 60 hours...
stclark04
Damnit.. I wish I had the patience to polish stuff. I get bored too easy.
RNBRAD
I use to kill myself polishing stuff until I found these. Man they take the work out of it and actually make it enjoyable. They work very well with eneven surfaces. They come in 3 different coarse combinations. Check this link and you will see them on there. You actually use them on a pnuematic angle die grinder, kind of like a dremmel but a lot stronger and faster. RNBRAD
Also the smoothies at the bottom of the page are great for dremmels.

NugShee
It's like a drug, I was looking for things to polish on my sons quad. sheesh 280235[/snapback] hahahaha, wait till you get to the rest of the carb. I started with the bowl first and that was the easy part. There are parts on the carb you wont be able to get. I do all my work with my dremel tool and a lot of diferent wheels. Best polishing combo so far is green compound and a small whool wheel. when all done you can get rid of the ultra fine swirl marks by using a cotton wheel with no compound on low speed and applying very little pressure. If I can figure out a way of posting pics I will let you see my carbs. Good Luck.
XxMeltIcexX
Nice Picture Hey Nugshee, I was planning on doing the whole carb till; i looked at all the small crevices.. lol...so i did both bowls and cleaned the carbs and put them back together.. but who knows... it may happen when i get bored again Ill post pics later of the finished result... maybe.. RNBRAD
Green work Ok? It's actually recommended for stainless steel and the brown is for aluminum. But hey, it probably has more abbrasives and cut the time it takes to shine. As long as the swirls aren't too deep.

(brown, black, yellow, green, white.) They all leave little swirl marks except for the green. The slower you go the better the outcome. Good luck.
