Turbo J
Hey Guys, I am headed to Little Sahara State park in Oklahoma over Thanksgiving weekend. I am currently in Eastern Iowa with an elavation of about 800ftl. My current banshee setup is FMF fatties, .020 shaved head, stock carbs, foam Pro Design filter with lid no snorkel. Current jetting is stock with a main of 290. It currently runs great but I am concerned about an elevation change headed to Western OK. I am trying to find the local elevation of Wynoka now. I know I would move down in jet size for thinner air but is it necessary? Can anyone in the area recommend a change or am I OK. Don't want to take the 12 hour ride and have my bike run like shit. Thanks
01bansheeke
you should be pretty close righ where you are. waynoka's elevation is about 1500ft i believe. myne is 900 ft and it always runs great down there.
sredish
No sense in changing anything now since you don't know how it will run there. You'll probably be alright, but do like I do, just run a plug check when you first get there. You'll know how it's running by how it revs and you can read the plug to see if there's a change. If not, your good, if so, then make a quick adjustment. Chances are your fine.
bigboybanshee
What kind of riding do you normally do? Trails/Sand/etc...I went up there a couple weeks ago and wished I had one size fatter on the main. My shee was jetted perfect for trails here in Memphis (3-400ft above sea level, respectively) and when I took my first rip down the dunes I started running hot. Normally for me my average operating temp here is 150-160 or so and in the first 10 minutes there I was at 190-200. I agree 100% with sredish about not changing anything until you get there and run it first...you may not have to change anything at all. BUT, it would be a good idea to take a size bigger and smaller on your mains, and if worse case scenario you don't have the jet size you need, there is a shop there at LS that sells them. Temperature outside is getting colder and will definitely have a role in how your jetting should be too...

Thanks 278702[/snapback] I ride Sahara with nearly the same setup. I am running a 320 without lid with K&N. bet you will be okay with the lid on.
