theredscout Posted November 2, 2004 Report Share Posted November 2, 2004 I have a 2001 Banshee with considerable mods done to it including a 5mm stroker. The engine was professionally built by white knuckle racing and has been rock solid. My problem is I have absolutely NO bottom end. I know with the banshee I shouldn't expect much Torque but my buddies banshee that is simply piped and jetted is much easier to ride than mine. Once my Shee warms up I really have to work the clutch to stay in the power. I jump on my buddies and one slip of the clutch and the power is right there. Don't get me wrong when we race I blow him away but only in a straight line. I recently had it dyno tuned and was impressed with the numbers....73hp..just NO and I mean NO bottom end. dlnoss Posted November 2, 2004 Report Share Posted November 2, 2004 One thing I have seen a few times is excessive squish clearance, particularly when the stock head is used with a top spacer plate sandwiched between two head gaskets. Porting was also done by white knuckle at the time of the stroker install. I am still running the stock reeds but he modified them. Running a stroker crank doesnt automatically mean you are gonna have great bottom end power, even a 10mm engine can be weak down low.
