kenr74
Here is a nice quote to remind you all who to vote for. Kerry, speaking to the Sierra club last week was asked his position on banning snowmobiles from Yellowstone; "When I am elected your next President I will LIMIT and ELIMINATE the use of off-highway vehicles on public lands to stop the damage that they cause." Here's a little more on his stance.... http://www.grovetontrailblazers.com/gtb/news/johnkerry.htm John Kerry is one of the most liberal people in Washington - bordering socialist... He follows typical liberal traditions of high taxation, siding with econazis on environmental issues (Now, don't think I am anti-environment - I'm anti EcoNazi, there's a big difference.), and a whole host of other things that don't appeal to me in the least. He doesnt trust our own Govt. to defend this country... do you think he'll trust you with your own land?.... W-
sredish
Just another example of his stupidity Snowmobiles have zero effect on yellowstone, because there's no terrain to tear up, your on snow, and there's a trail system laid out very well. he's an idiot. red ore
There was a report released about this a year or so ago. All of the people who voted for closing Yellowstone to snowmobiles were asked how many times they had RIDDEN a snowmobile......All that voted to close had never been on one before, except one. All of the votes for keeping it open, were cast by people who had ridden them before. closing PUBLIC land starts small....gets bigger, then gets out of hand. I was told once that ATV's and snowmobiles are NOT welcome in the woods by "tree huggers" becasue when they go for a hike, they dont wanna listen to US making noise. That just pisses me off, because I live here, in the woods, and Im gonna enjoy it how I want. These Liberal tree huggers live in large cities, and have NO clue what its like living in "hickville" So the next time them dumb fuckers go and try and close down MY PLAYGROUND because they need a spot to relax from the loud and busy life in the city, I hope there is a good politician that can stand up for what is the FREEDOM to do what we are supposed to be able to do. It makes a guy really feel helpless and cornered. If they take away my sled and my ATV, I might just go postal........... I sure as hell am NOT taking up hiking...... My dad ride horses for "fun"....Him and I get into it ALL the time about this. He thinks that ATVs are rediculous and I should buy a "pony"...HELL NO!!! Ive been riding dirt bikes and ATV's since I was a kid and I have been in the hospital becasue of them twice in my entire life (stitches). Between my dad and his wife, they have spent over a month combined in the hospital, for a total of 6 times now in just 10 years. Once my dad almost died because his rib got broke and went through his lung. Ever ridden down a horse trail? Their exhaust stinks WAY worse then any premix I have ever used......... Minnesota is one of the largest snowmobile states. During the winter months snowmobiles consume 1% of the gasoline burnt in the state. There is a HUGE number of sleds registered in this state. 1% of ALL the gas burnt....them tree huggers burn more fuel in their Suburbans and Expeditions on the way to capitol to get us shut down then I do in one day of riding my sled, for HOURS!....MORONS!!! Although I dont belong to any sort of ATV or snowmobile club, I should. Every one should belong to one, and a good one that will stand up and be heard. I want to join one, but the clubs around here for ATV's are mostly old people who dont understand the "sport" rider mentality.
Cotton eyed Joe
One of my wifes friends was lambasting me for wanting to vote for Bush, and I thought about it....Bush FITS what I'm looking for in my life as an American citizen. I could care less what John Kerry has to "offer" and what his "plan" actually is. This John Kerry guy needs to go back to spending his ex-wifes, and his current wifes ex-husbands money and leave the rest of us the f*ck alone. Wassup350
If our government takes our right to ride atvs and sleds away im moving to Canada. I swear if people think bush is dumb then f**k them we dont need some f***nig god damn tree hugging idiot running the country. Around where i love snowmobiling is a huge part of the economy, it gives business to dealers, restaurants, hotels, gas stations, and guides. So if Kerry were to some how get snowmobiles banned then thats an other ****in dumbass democrat making a decission that will **** our economy up. Plus snowmobiling is very fun, now if Kerry doesnt think that Americans should be able to ahve fun then what kinda president is he gonna be?? Fun is a form of freedom, so if kerry is elected then we may as well go to communism or something. On an other note, this pussy doesnt like noise?? Has he ever heard a Nascar Race?? Nascar is the biggest sport in the country, its an American sport, so if he doesnt like noise he doesnt like nascar making him seem less american. Think about that Edited November 1, 2004 by Wassup350

BigRed350x
I live in wyoming and I remember hearing back when they frist tried to ban snowmobiling in yellowstone (wasnt a total ban, but only let like 500 into the park or something like that) there was a restaurant up there that some cool old guy started way back in the day and he had to shut down this place that he built from the ground up because he didn't get any business after the partial ban. His entire winter income was based on snowmobiling up there. I felt pretty bad for him, all because some f*ck tard didn't want the buffalo to get scared by the evil nasty horrible two-stroke exhaust. Those people don't realize that my 500 head of cattle release WAY more toxic gases into the atmosphere than all the two strokes running around yellowstone combined. Don't tell them that, they might ban my cattle. HaHaHa Kerry is a twit. If he is so concerned about bringing jobs into the US why doesn't tell his dog ass wife to bring the 100+ Heinz factories outside the US back here. Start with your wife, then worry about the rest of the country.

Nightrider
Obviously some states and national parks are subject to more harrasment by the EPA and sierra club. If your riding areas are being threatened,YOU COULD MOVE TO WHERE THE RIDING AREAS ARE NOT TARGETED BY THE SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS.I was told by some HQ members that if there are no jobs available where I live,I should move to where the work is.Or I could sit on m ass and pray for the "Right" form of Goverment to bail you out. When your ship is sinking, you have 2 choices.swim to shore or drown.Since everyone agreed that moving is the logical thing to do then I propose you all do the same. There are places where trail systems are available and free from the hands of tree huggers.Being a avid atv rider,I would say I feel for you,but we don't have issues with our public riding areas and most likely never will. This is no different than the loss of jobs Ohio has experienced, nobody cared because it was all good where they lived and I was told that if I had half a brain, that I would relocate to secure lifetime empoyment. Now I can say I could give a shit less if your confined to riding on you 80'x125' lot.Riding is good in Ohio,so cry to someone who cares. Its a pretty selfish and shitty thing to say,but its not my fight.I live over there a couple thousand miles away where the riding is good. Its not my fight.Thank you KGL for helping me see the light. I live in Ohio and even during the Clinton administration when Yellowstone was being attacked and riding areas at Glamis were disappearing, the goverment was still adding new APV trails to our National forest and major trail rennovations were conducted.Democrats in the whitehouse have NEVER effected our atv trailsystems in Ohio.We currently have one national forest and 5 state operated forests for APV use. Nothing has changed since George W took office, were still seeing all of the same trail rennovations and such,he has done no more,no less. Nightrider
Hers some advice I got from KGL with "riding" substituted. Again , my point is you can either sit there and about whats going on in your state and wait for a govt. bail out (which isnt coming) or you can do something about your situation , start your own riding area or go to where the riding areas are... its not that hard of a concept . how about this one from KGL Man I guess youre right... you should just stay there and wait for someone else to fix your situation Youre correct , I dont live in yellowstone , but I also dont have to put a gun to my head to find out what will happen. Research huh, lets see... ever heard of the great lawsuit of the 80's? did everyone sit around and just wait for riding areas to return. No , they MOVED TO WHERE THE RIDING IS ... how do you think Glamis got discovered , did people just move out there to be "one with the dunes?" Heres a classic This may be just a "crazy" idea I'm throwing out here but... if there arent any trails in your area MOVE TO WHERE THE Riding areas are!
