Dustyn
Hello, I am new to this forum and was wondering if I could get some help. I just bought a 2004 Blue Shee that is Stock. It has been ridden only 2 times. The plastic is a little scratched from tree limbs. Can this be fixed? I want to install a full FMF System, Boost bottle, Reeds, Twist Throttle, Nerf Bars and K & N. Will I notice much with these mods? Last question. My buddies and I are planning on going to little Sahara. Are Paddles a must? How do they ride? Thanks for your help
banshdog
Welcome!!!! you will notice a huge gain with the exhaust, reeds, and air filter. My advice (and probably the advice of many of the people on here) do not buy the boost bottle. Its not necessary and wont give you a gain in power. riding in sand doesnt require paddles, but they help soooooooooooo much. without them you should expect alot of wheel spinning. Cheap mod: Degree key. it advances your timing 4 degrees. its one of the first things i did to my bike, and most people on here will recommend it to you. Dustyn
Thanks for the info. Where can I find the degree key?
SICK BOY
Check here- Vito's Performance
banshdog
I got mine locally at a Magic Racing store, it was made by Vito's. Im sure you can find them on the internet. Also, you will need a flywheel puller to install it. so check into that as well. about $15 bucks maybe? ps, jetting is probably the most important step when adding parts like intake and exhaust. dont hesitate to ask questions, and check out the jetting FAQ's. there is a ton of info on here for you to use. ledofthezep
Or you could mod your stock plate if you have a dremel, do a search & you'll find lots of info on that. Some people shun the degree keys saying their prone to breaking. A lot of people are now just modding their stock plates, not a whole lot to it. I run a RS adjustable plate...was around $130 with a stock watage stator on the adjustable plate.
mat
Paddles aren't an absolute necessity, but I suggest buying them before anything else.
PUSH THE THROTTLE
Get a plate for your filter so you can toss the lid off your airbox. Noss sells them watch for the link at the top of the page.
Dustyn
Thanks for the info. Who has the best prices??? Get a plat for the filter and remove the box. Will this hurt the carbs???
banshdog
he's saying to take the lid off, not remove the box. no lid = more air = more gas = more power. you could remove the entire box, but i wouldnt recommend it if you ride through puddles. there is an adaptor plate that will allow you to connect an aftermarket filter to the inside of your stock air box. there are several different setups you could choose from, and different ways to mod your airbox. none will hurt the carbs as long as you have a filter on and maybe an outerwear too.
