00BANSHEE
uhhhh what avatar haha shhh dont say anything, i dont wanna get killed. That pic is a couple of years old. I miss the banshee only when drag racing. Everywhere else the 450 rocks. You would probably be surprised at how much faster you would be racing XC with a 4 stroke. sredish
I'm leaving first thing in the morning to test ride the machine below. May come home with it, we'll see. Edited October 23, 2004 by sredish
boonman
Sredish, looks like a nice machine. For XC, you will love the 450. Prolly be faster, and punish yourself a little less. To be seriously competitive in XC, you need a new chassis for the shee. I know, I've been there. It's like riding a bulldozer. It can be done, but there are better ways to do it. While it would be sad to see the shee go, I myself wouldn't bitch at ya for wanting to race a better machine, more suited to the environment. I, myself, will not have a 450 untill I can afford to have it, and keep my shee as well.....

locogato11283
damn thats a nice 450. i dont know man. it might be worth the trade. it would be cheaper to buy a new banshee than to buy a new 450.
00BANSHEE
WARNING....You ride it and you will be hooked. Looks like a full LRD exhaust and not just a slip-on. A buddy has that pipe and on a local dyno it put out more power then any other pipe they have tested.
Banshee~
one thing is for sure...that graphic kits ugly...sredish why dont you swing both quads? you were talking about keeping the shee and getting a kfx700 awhile back
sredish
you were talking about keeping the shee and getting a kfx700 awhile back no i wasn't, you all just thought I was. that's one I'm glad I didn't pursue tho.

I rode both 450's and they are good bikes but the shee was more fun hands down "for me atleast". However I dont race so I have no need for the handling. I just ride for fun. The way I look at it is I have seen people including my self get off the 450 and say it was a good bike but nothing that exciting, but never have I seen anyone get off my shee with out a smile on there face. SICK BOY
Let us know how you make out.No matter what you do you'll still have a quad,so it's a win win.
sredish
I'll be leaving in an hour or so to test her out. Like I said, it'll have to impress me, but from what everybody seems to think it will. I've never been on a thumper so it might take me a few laps to get used to it. I've already got a long travel setup priced out, a 13:1 piston setup, a new air intake setup and possibly some cams, dunno tho. So, if it does go down, I'll still have some things to work on. I wish I went long travel on the banshee, but I've heard the yfz is just unreal with a good long travel setup. He wants my banshee for a 4-sec dragger.
