broke
I have been told if i want to get into MX racing that i want to shortend it whatfor It helps to improve traction, and correct some of the geometry issues with the Banshee. How? By changing the front to rear weight balance. It moves the rear tires forward, thereby moving the ridiers weight more towards the rear of the quad. The Banshee is front heavy from the factory, so this is a great mod for them. Getting forward + a-arms does this slightly also. There are many on here that run - length swingarms, me included that can give two thumbs up for this simple mod. I did notice that is was kind of sketchy in sand, it just gave a vague feel of when the front was getting light, but it has been great every where else. recomp
I have a -1" swing arm and +2 +1 A-Arms Great for MX racing. The front end comes up ok, when i want it to. Also the arm pump is almost gone now that i did this. I hated how in a race I would race around and by the time the race was over i was all beat up from the front end slamming the ruts and holes in the track. All gone now.. l8ter! www.nysatv.com My Webpage Check it out, pics of my quad and stuff.
tats4life
i run a -2 swinger with +2+1 a arms......u can't phuck with me going in or coming out of a corner on a mx track, i can ride all over 450's, and R's till there face turns blue, with my suspension i've got to muscle mine up to even ride a wheelie........dual rate zero preload shocks are a bitch to use when u tryin to stunt. Wassup350
I have a -2 swing arm and i have no complaints!! It corners so much better. Before i was having trouble cornering now ive been passing YFZs through the corners. I noticed also that is jumps a hell of a lot better. It doesnt tend to loft as much in the air and levels out better. Also it stiffens it up in the rear a little bit so it lands a lot nicer. sredish
What about in a XC environment where you have longer straights where the speeds might get a little faster or hold higher speeds a little longer? You guys think a -1 might work better in that environment or a -2 will still be stable and fine for that? I've really had a hard time working this one out in my head, and anyone that knows me knows I can't make a decision for shit when it involves my banshee, I weigh it over until I go nuts. I've got one txblueshee let me "borrow" to cut down and try out. Part of my wants to go ahead and cut it then and another part wants me to hit ol Gary up for a nice -1.
