loganskinner
what do you think about the DMC 916 pipes for the shee? they come into one center mounted exhaust tip and they seem alright to me. ive had good experiances in the past with DMCs four stroke pipes so im looking into these for the shee instead of my damn DGs. bansheefreak
i had them on my banshee and i liked them alot... good pulling power from top to bottom.. not to mention the sound is awesome too...if you look at the pipes they are very close to t5's.. and if you get them don't be alarmed at the dent on the right side pipe thats to clear the water hose out of water pump
stu
i got the DMC aliens with the two silencers. there awesome, the best sounding banshee pipes ive ever heard. the powers good with a fair amount of bottom and a shite load of mid stu
Cooker
I have FMFs on my Banshee but I have a DMC Alien on my Blaster and it made a HUGE difference from low to high rpms, mostly mid to top. I imagine that the Banshee pipes would perform as well.
23champ
I've heard that they run too close to the air box ,and can burn holes in it
wesw
my brother in law has them on his shee. they are the best sounding pipes out there, by far, nothing sounds like them. his shee has a pretty mean port job and they really scream. probably the better all around pipe out there. now for the bad news. the fit is really tight where it comes 2 to 1 silencer. he wrecked his bike and kinda bent the frame a bit. the pipe in kinda rubbing the frame now. and you really cant do much about them. the worst thing about dmc is there dumb ass mounting system on teh back of the frame. it a rubber bushing with some bolt thru them. they are a bad design. he was drag racing and the damn thing broke adn the system fell down. we had to baling wire it up. cheap design, he called the company and they even said it was a bad design. other than that they are kick ass. mean sounding, also when we were at waynoka there wasnt any other bike out there with them on. not one. kinda cool being the only one with them. stclark04
Ive heard them in action before, they do sound pretty good. I dunno about the best sounding pipe. My vote goes to rockets or toomeys.
PUSH THE THROTTLE
I run the 916's and really like them. They seem to make a more rideable Banshee, more torque and plenty of top end. I was torn between Paul Turner Mids and the 916's made the decision on price a little more than half of what the Turners would have cost. I had called and talked to the guys at DMC many times before ordering and they were very good to talk to and informational. Plus told me who to order from for the best price. My complaints about them are: I have burnt through the side of may airbox, when I had stock carbs no problem but when I added the CV-2 I went to no lid and the box seemed a little squeezed in there and before I noticed it burnt a hole in the air box. Not a big deal since I don't run a lid anyway. The other complaint I have is that I would like to raise the silencer about an inch. I haven't had any problems with the mountings but be careful to not over tighten the bolts they are small. The reason I would raise the silencer is since I run a -2 swing arm when I ride wheelies sometimes touching the grab bar you can sometimes rub the silencer on the ground, normally it wont hit but small bumps can scratch it a little. Lastely I have also put a scratch in the side of the silencer when jumping my ramp because I've compressed the suspension so far that my parking brake block off plate interferes with the silencer at max 1mm. But I would definately recommend the 916's to anyone who rides trails, woods, tracks, MX. If you are a duner it sounds like you would want something more like the Toomey's. platinumjason
916's are nice pipes, my friend has them on his banshee and it screams and they sound great almost like a crotch rocket or something like that. You cant go wrong with these.
dmcman2003
For what its worth I'll tell you that dmc 9/16 pipes are the best thing that ever happened to the banshee. like all the other posts state the power is great,mid-range monster. The sound is the best part about the the whole deal,i get more compliments on the way the pipes sound then i ever did with my t-5's which i still love, but you can't go wrong on the 9/16. What I don't like is the finish on the pipes there ok,but they don't compare to paul turners, cpi, trinitys. I just can't figure out why when i go to little sahara ok on snakehunt/sandfest weekends, why me and 5 other guys are the only ones with these pipes outta 5 thousand banshee's+-? sandslinger03
I also have a set of these on my banshee. Nothing in my book sounds as good as the dmc's revving out. I think they are a great pipe and would buy them all over again. But if you are looking for a pipe with loads of top end then these aren't for you.
