sredish
Sup fellas. Just won a set of PT Mids with CPI silencers off of Ebay for $125. He had good feedback so we'll see how it works out. They look pretty good but need a little cleaning up. For the price, a little cleaning up is worth it I think. Anyone have any comments or thougths on the silencers and all? Later. Edited October 11, 2004 by sredish

bigboybanshee
Hell yeah! I've always been interested in getting a set of those!! Good find sredish!
sredish
Yea, I've got a set of Fatties and I love them. But, the PTs are known for their low mid power and have been proven to be the most powerful midrange pipes out there. Soooo, I had to get a set to try. I've been looking and lurking for awhile but never could find a deal to jump on. I found one set on Ebay once, pipes only that I forgot to follow up on. Got on last night and within a few hours of this auction start time, had used the "Buy It Now" on them. Waiting to hear back on shipping costs, he's one state away so it shouldn't be too much and will hopefully have them by Thurs. I'm wondering about the sound they'll produce with the CPI silencers. I like the looks of these silencers better than the Fat Boys and the CPI sound is awesome, so I'm hopin to get that sound. I'll throw them on and see how I like them. If I do like them, i might have them sent off for refinishing, maybe this Powder Chrome I've heard Dunedemon talk about and then use them some. Don't know what I"ll do with the Fatties if I go that route. Don't really know what I have planned right now, just wanted a set of PT mids to try out. bigboybanshee
If you put them on and they're not your cup of tea, let me know....I'll buy em from you. Like I said before, I've always wanted to try a set too I'm pretty sure you'll like them though, I don't think I've heard a bad thing about PT's. sredish
Seeing as I've never ran a pair, I wonder if my jetting will want to move up or down. If memory serves, I think a size down on the mains is where these might want to go. Of course, I'll play around with them. I'm thinking of hitting the dyno next week with my Fatties and then the PTs and see what the difference is once and for all. We'll see. Oh ya, bigboy, I'll keep that in mind. But, don't get your hopes up. Edited October 11, 2004 by sredish

I guarantee you will like the sound. I run T-5 silencers with my PTmids and I always get complements on them. The sound is very similar to a full set of T-5 pipes and silencers, but I think mine has a little more raw sound to them. Maybe they just need repacked, I don't know, but I'm not going to touch them. sredish
They're coming from Louisiana therail. Too bad. mrmatt, i'll take your guarantee. so fellas, wonder what my best refinishing options are. I don't really like the look of pc'ed pipes, wonder what the cost of a chrome job will be. that is, if i like them, which i've been told i might not with my single carb, but i'll have to see it to believe it, i think that carb would be a perfect compliment personally. we'll see. racer
u can get em ceramic coated. somethin like chrome, but not as shiny. ceramic coating isnt real good for 2 stroke pipes. it holds heat in real well, which works great on race cars, but not on banshees. slowpokebanshee
I spent all last week at sealevel jetting my bike with PT mids,I came up with one up on the pilots(27.5), and 280 MJ, needle stock, in stock position...I have clamp on K&N filters, and a 15 tooth CS sprocket. rips around pretty good now. explodes off the bottom. and actually pulls pretty good all the way up...next trip I will put on my T-5 pipes and compare...
