Animalman294
Does anyone know where I can find a comparison between the Cool Heads and ther Noss Heads? I hear they both work great but main reason for getting the new head is to get better cooling, and more power never hurt. That reminds me can I run pump gas through 20cc heads or should I be using 21cc domes? I live at and ride at about 400 foot elevation, but go to sand mountain a lot and it is in the high desert of Nevada. Elevation I think is around 2500 to 3000 feet or what ever Fallon Nevada is. Any input would be appreciated.......... Got Sand?
banshee76179
Either is good but Noss will give U a discount for being a member of the HQ....+ I think more people on here prefer Noss.. I have StageIV trinity head, but I will evetually get a Noss after winter tear down. I think 20cc or 19cc is pretty much the cut-off for 93 octane.. maybe, somebody will clear up if 19 or 20 And welcome to the HQ Chris Edited October 11, 2004 by banshee76179
sredish
Both heads are the same, except the NOSS head is available in colors and you get a discount. Dave is a good guy to deal with also. They'll both provide the same benefits. The "cutoff" is more related to the compression. The cutoff should be around 160, or 155 with advanced timing. At those two figures, a 50/50 mixture would work. Over 165 or 170, I'd go straight. To be safe, 20cc should be close enough to get by, unless your higher than 2,000' or so. If in doubt, order 20cc. DIRTBIKEZ
I was under the impression you had to install new studs when using the Coolhead.
sredish
Dave has two kinds, one you replace the studs on and one that uses the stock studs. The Pro Design requires the longer studs, but it's really no big deal.
FadedDreams
I would say go for the Noss head.I had the Pro Design, and i don't know if it was me or just a flaw in the head, but the o-rings on the domes would always mess up and i would burn coolant.I would take the head apart, put new dome rings in and about 2 weeks later, same problem. The 1 piece head is a better design anyways. sandman121383
the NOSS head is a great way to go. for the price u'll get it for u can' beat it! i myself am running a Pro Design Cool Head. i put mine on right the first time. no leaks, no buirning coolant or ANY problems. u could make the same mistakes putting any head on in my opinion, no matter what the brand. just remember to re torque several times and just keep checking. i put mine on. let it idle, then cool, checked the specs, ran it and putted round in first , then let it cool and rechecked and did this over n over till i was in 5th gear and really running it then made my final check on it. never sprung a leak or had problems with o rings. plus i kinda prefer the o rings
Bansheerider29x
The paul tuner cool head is the way to go
duneslinger
does the noss cool head have a revised coolant flow pattern like the trinity stage4 and the choozen head or just flow across the top of the cylinders and out the other side like a prodesign??? 20cc domes and advanced timing i would say 1/2 race to be safe. dlnoss
The Noss head does have coolant deflectors to keep the coolant from just flowing across the top. Coolant is directed down through the cylinder water jackets for even cooling.
spike4444
Are Vito's Hemi Heads any good as compared to these other heads? Thanks. Cya
