I decided on a harley and decided today beacause it is a nice day and I am bored. If I had one I could ride. Which one should I Get? I want to ride really far on the highways and the back roads (up to the mountains) and just for fun. I woulda also like to drive to school on a nice day. How far can you go on a tank? My main concern is the ability for people to see me and the noise. I want THE LOUDEST POSSIBLE BIKE AND THE MOST VISABLE. I am thinking a sportster 883 or 1200, or a used higher end model. What is a good mileage on a used one? Who makes the best helmets and gear? I want pants and a jacket as well as a full face helmet. None of which are black. yamahanut98 Posted October 10, 2004 Report Share Posted October 10, 2004 harleys can last up to 100,000 miles before a rebuid and they hold their value like nothing other my dad just bought a 92 heritage softail w/ a n 80 in motor she has 30,000 on her and never skips a beat and looks the same she did off the show room floorcept now she got more chrome if you can get a good used one up here a sportster is kinda only a half a harley unless its an old shovel head or somthin old school like that but yeah if you can get a good used one for under 10-13k go for it you'll never ride another street bike again, loudest pipes hmmm i would say some drag pipes they are loud make sure you take the baffles out for the loud though and then you will be setting off car alarms Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Thanks 2 1/2 inch PVC straight back is the way to go... lol idk I dont know shit about harleys accept that they use very old technology (push rod twins) and produce very very little HP per cc. but are very comfy to ride and good for just cruisin up the country/back/mountain roads... And if you think a Harley isnt dangerous, you shouldnt be riding buddy... yeppers.. get some shorty drag pipes some serious DB's ...but, not to short that they hurt the performance.. MudSlinger09 Posted October 11, 2004 Report Share Posted October 11, 2004 (edited) i really cant stand loud harleys . no offense but my neighbor had a blue harley , and he would rev that bitch up all day and take neighbors for rides up the street at full fuckin throttle.he had some really loud pipes on that thing . but he never and i mean never took that thing within 5 miles from his house . i kinda like stock exhaust .
