kotin6
My banshee has started to blow oil from where my SST's meet up to the motor. It has not affected the power or anything and the oil has not gotten lower. It is however dirtying up all my bling and pissing me off. Anyone know why this is happening or how to stop it? kotin6
started after I changed my pipes from stock to the SST
banshdog
Mine did that when i put on my pro circuits. for 2 reasons: 1. the stock holes on the exhaust mounts did not line up well. i drilled new holes where the pipes fit against the motor the best. 2. when i got my pipes i did not get any gaskets with them. so oil in the exhaust was spitting through even the tiniest gap. with the top end gasket kit i just put on, i got two gaskets for the exhaust. these should tighten up the gaps alot better. so......did you use gaskets when putting on the new pipes? i was told that RTV works just as well, if not better. try that maybe. You need to remove the o-rings from the stock exhaust and put them in there. The oil leaking out will have no effect on the oil level in the gearcase. Oilsmoke
Kotin Don't they sell Yamahas in Italy? Go get some new ones from the dealer
kotin6
Yes they sail yamaha here but it is scootors and motorcyclyes. I took my banshee to a dealer one day and he thought it was awsome but had never seen one before. They told me that they couldnt get any parts for them. The only other one I have heard of around here was about 2 hours away at a car show it was a new 2003 nothing special and they wanted like 10000 euro for it($17900) They had a raptor too and they wanted more for it. Evryone that sees me riding wants to talk to me about it, even after I kill them on their scooter. If they can get to the red light befor it turns green afterwards then they all ways try to talk to me and ask how much to buy it. I will deffinetly sell it before I leave here. If you didn't remove them from the stockers then they should still be stuck in the groove on the inside of the pipe, I can't imagine that they would have fallen out when you removed the pipes, mine were pretty well stuck in there...
