ledofthezep
Will probably be there in this: Will also have 2 yellow 400ex's...one with blue frame & chrome a-arms with works, and this one...with the holeshots & carbon fiber shizzle... Should be sporting a zeppelin flag somewhere...and I'll be in my usual attire... Edited October 4, 2004 by ledofthezep
01bansheeke
I hope you are bringing a LONG rope for that wakeboard. Prepare to get sandblasted. I don't really know what it feels like to be behind someone, but i imagine that sand hurts lol
sredish
led, can i ride one of your 400s??? Pretty please??? In the water, your only going about 12 to 15 mph depending on where your boat puts out the best wake. Really, the slower the better, but 12 is about perfect. 12mph on a shee is suuulllloooowwww!!! I hit 12 at idle. I can imagine there would be some sand, but with a decent rope you should be able to get away from it. I always seem to get these things off topic. limitied03
this is kind of off topic(but it is in the sand forum)..ive got 18 holeshots on my shee right now with stock gearing and the stock pipes back on, and i was thinking about buying some paddles and i was wondering what ya'lls opinion is on whether i should just roll with what i got or go with paddles for the LS trip? sredish
Yes, go buy some paddles. Go to ebay and see if you can find some inexpensive tire/wheel combos already together. What I'd do, personally, is go ahead and go to RockyMountainATV.com and get some ITP SandStars mounted on Douglas .125s. Then you'd be set for life!! limitied03
i was looking at those earlier today....couldnt decide if i wanted to buy jus the tire or the tire and rim combo...this is my first trip to the dunes so i have allll kinds questions...i feel like a newbie in the HQ again should i bring my dirt tires with me or will i be ridin in nothing but sand? and is there anything i should bring that the average person wouldnt? haha besides a good head on my shoulders and plenty of booze Edited October 5, 2004 by limitied03
racer
at LS it will be all sand, well except for the campgrounds which are asphalt. on the wakeboard subject, maybe you all should pull with one of leds 400's so that you arent either killin the guy on the board or foulin plugs in the shee. bigboybanshee
this is my first trip to the dunes so i have allll kinds questions...i feel like a newbie in the HQ again I feel better now... My first time to the dunes too and I'm really torn on my tire situation as well. GBC says my tire would be OK in the sand and it has a paddle like tread but I don't wanna get out there and they suck ass. But on the same note, I ride trails 99% of the time and sand, oh, never...I'd love to say I'll become a regular to the dunes but with a 9 hour drive it kinda dampens things..wish I could rent a set of paddles Don't feel bad man, you are not alone
limitied03
haha 9 hour trip? ive got about a 12 hour trip ahead of me if i go...which things are looking up sooo... so bigboy will you be up at LS on the 22nd?
sredish
Really, you can run just fine with the stock tires. You won't be killin anyone in the drags, and might not have quite the traction you'd have with paddles, but you can still have a lot of fun. So, don't feel obligated to buy paddles just for the one trip. In fact, go and see if you like it, if your coming back, then buy paddles. Isn't this supposed to be an "INFO" on who's coming only thread
limitied03
well i think so? i have a short attention span... sorry if i side tracked anyone, haha
bigboybanshee
so bigboy will you be up at LS on the 22nd? Yes I will...Big Blue and I are meeting up and heading out there on Thursday the 21st. sredish, thanks for the reassurance on the tires. ledofthezep
led, can i ride one of your 400s??? Pretty please??? You'll have to fight the g/f for mine(hers basically anyway) and my buddy(zephead400ex) for his. But yeah, I'd let you ride it...if you can handle that much power. It's a fun quad though, reliable & fun to play on; but not quite the duner the banshee is. For those interested in paddles, here's what I'm running...got them at LS actually, at jim's sand toyz in town. $160 ready to bolt on. I'd say I'd let you guys in question bolt them on & try them...but you'll have to have honda hubs.
sredish
I'll just add, I doubt I'll get there before 3 or so on Friday. 4.5 hours and probably won't leave before 10am. Maybe though, depends on txblueshee's lazy ass.
