sredish
Those of you that don't know my issue, I've been fighting a super rich main jet and not still not having enough fuel. I've basically narrowed it to the air vacuum through the carb. I feel that there is some turbulence or something that is not getting the air to flow properly. I don't know this, but that's all that's left it could be. I ordered a richer tapered needle that would give me more fuel at 3/4 to Full throttle, and EEK, I was using a DEK. I put in the EEK and took out my 230 main jet and put in a 200 main jet. The power was instantly stronger. There had to be another five horses. It was pulling up harder than it has in a long time, maybe ever. I was on the road doing a plug test and it was coming up on me in 4th with my 15/41 setup. While, I'd like to not go any higher, I feel I could go a touch richer, so tomorrow I might try a 205 and hopefully that will get her done. But it seems that my motor really needed that extra pull at 3/4 throttle to come on sooner, and boy does it. It took an hour to get the smile off my face. So, the saga continues... sredish
never woulda though of a thicker needle. so shee's runnin like a raped ape huh? Actually the straight diameter is the same, but the taper is steeper (D = 1* 45*, and an E = 2* 00*), so at the start of the taper, they're both the same and the farther down it goes, the thinner it gets. Rode again today, with Banshee76179 and one of his buds, and didn't put in a 205, left it at 200. She ran great. Seemed to be stronger overall and it's hard to believe that it can pull that damn hard. It pulled hard before, but it's even harder now. So, I'm happy about that. As the temps start to drop, I'm sure I'll be giving a 205 a chance tho. Had a good, but short, ride with B76179, I had to split early to go pick up my son. I rode for a couple hours, or just short of, before they got there, and we took a couple short rides, then I was gone. Fun though, and there were some muddy spots as it's been raining.
