williamjernigan
It is on ebay and it has no reserve and I think I might can get it for 1500 or less. Here is what the guy selling it has to say about it: The head was cracked in the water jacket above the exaust port and has been welded up. It cracked from having too much water in the cooling system and freezing. The crack has nothing to do with performance or reliability, the cylinder sleve is in great shape. The left front wheel leans out a little bit, not for sure why, was told I could shim it to fix it but never took the time. Quad was bored I think .020 over when I first got it in 1994 by the motorcycle shop down the road from me, I have also added a DG silencer which is like brand new. With new plastic and a fresh top end this ATV would be a top notch ride. What do you guys suggest?

superchicken
lt500's are a tourque monter.my brother has had one for years.theres a few things that i should bring to your attention before you make the leap.87's have one less head stud than an 88.and both are prone to cracking cylinders.and blowing the top end alot parts are getting hard to come by cheap these days for them and slowly dwindiling out. good luck with your desicion, and btw your not looking to get rid of your she for it are you?your better off keeping your shee. blk02banshee
Stay away from a '87, you'll just end up with a can of worms. I've ridden many, and know lots of people that had them, and the 87s just seem to have one problem after another.
NugShee
I almost bought one but from what I hear they are just one problem after the other. This is coming from people that still have them and thats their only ride. I have not heard anything good about the LT500 except for they have good torque. If I were going to buy one I would make sure that it is in near perfect shape. Good Luck
Wassup350
Screw taht Suzuki sux its not worth all the headaches of repairing the thing. I'd get a 250R and put a Honda CR500 Engine in it, if i ever wanted a 500. Or like Loco did and put the 500 in a banshee frame.
