philshee
I believe that the American Sand Association has an annual Glamis dunes clean up some time in late spring. You might check them out for the info.
efward
Every year on the MLK weekend. I've been out there for the last three. It's pretty big with sponsors and giveaways. People come out with all kinds of new collecting inventions as well as the standard hefty bag and a stick. I think it's a great event and a chance for everyone that uses the dunes to lend a hand. If you want to get involved (beyong just volunteering) I'm sure the organizers would love more sponsorship. Do a keyword search over at glamisdunes.com. I've heard talk of splitting up the cleanup effort to the north and south ends of glamis. Not sure if that's happening.
pimp559
The big clean up get togethers are great. I know not evryone can get together always at the same time. For anyone not able to make it, please take the time when you do go riding to pick-up trash before you leave. It doesn't seem fair that we should have to clean up after irresponssible people, but if we don't it just takes away our freedom. We always pick-up trash in a large area around our camp before we leave wether its ours or not. If you happen to see some nasty campers out there littering the place up you can always ask the Ranger to have them tighty things up. It doesn't take hardly anytime to pick-up trash and it feels really good to know you are doing something to make a difference.
