trail rider
I think a good choice would be a motor like in the kawi Ninja 500r. Its a 500cc parallel twin with the dual carbs and pipes. But since yamaha doesn't really make a 500cc 4 stroke inline twin (All they got is big 4 cylinders in their street bikes) they could maybe barrow one from somebody. SandShooter
I have a buddy who stuffed a suzuki TL1000 V twin into a banshee, 130 hp stock. I here that its a rocket.

BigRed350x
I like the idea of a snowmobile engine. Something like the old Phazers, but with a more modern touch. Take the engine out of the SXViper and stick it in the banshee frame. Wait a second, I have a viper and a Banshee, that might be worth trying. I would want a manual tranny though, not automatic. Oilsmoke
It is a 2 cycle Rotax 1000cc Twin new this year in ski-doo Summit. Hill climbing Monster, 163 horsepower right out of the box. It uses transfer port injection system. they claim it is as clean as a 4 stroke motor. You were probably looking at the new Maier plastic. Looks kinda Raptorish.
01bansheeke
I have heard a few dealer reps(you know how they can be) talking about fuel injection to keep the blaster and banshee going. Fuel injection somehow will help with emissions from the two stroke motors. not sure how, but it'd be real f'n cool if they kept them going. it does make sense though, why would yamaha want to get rid of one of its top sellers when there is technology out there to improve on what they have? sheeweet
I thought the YFZ450 is the banshee replacement.
SHAFT
The goverment has given these corporations till 06 to reduce 2 cycle emissions by 75%. It can be done with things like fuel injection , exhaust scrubbers. Most snowmobiles and water craft will remain 2 cycle til atleast 2009-2010, i can't see yamaha investing the money in keeping alive the banshee program though. crbanshee
personaly i think they should use the same motor they use in the crotch rocket bikes..something like a gsxr motor or come out with something that will compare to the suzuki hayabusa and slap that pig in a banshee frame..i mean hell if those guys can go around a track at 200+ mph why cant we go around a dune or a wash at those speeds the motor is already out there just find a way to put it in a banshee.....that or just go to an old fashion turbine jet engine
01bansheeke
I'd like to see someone with the balls to go around a wash or a bowl going that fast. Chances are you'll never see it.
