Looking at 04 / 05 Banshee - But...

I'm finally in the market for a new machine - Banshee 04 / 05, but everyone is trying to talk me out of the purchase. I have owned a Warrior and Wolverine - both had zero problems.

I have heard all kinds of arguments:

Yamaha will stop making the Banshee after '06 due to EPA regulations

Some trails are not allowing 2-strokes to run

Noise, noise, noise

High maintenance cost, fowling of plugs, re-building of carbs, etc...

There are better alternatives, like what?

Please Help

Rick

3 noise? wait till you itch for some t-5's

4 plugs are cheap and only retards foul them constantly, ive never redone my carbs, just buy some pj's :)

They aren't noisey with the stock pipes, I haven't ran the stock silencers with the Toomeys yet, but I can always get Toomeys hush kit. It was designed to shut people up that like to bitch that 2 strokes are noisey, and now those people can ride on dunes such as Oregon, and Sliver Lake where houses are near. Even though people have probably been riding on the dunes much longer than the houses have been there, they still find it neccesary to bitch.

The Toomey hush kit is metaphorically going around the mountain rather than trying to go through the mountain.

Currently I live in - Alabama, but maybe moving to Michigan in the next 6 months.

Another thing I have heard - is that if this EPA thing gets passed, all two and four stokers will have to do some emissions mods at a cost to owners from $50 to the sky is the limit.

I'm not motor head but I can handle a wrench.

And as for the smoken thing, all my buds are running the 660 Yamaha's - they keep saying that the Banshee will not keep up - low end stuff.

You just cant be a pussy with a banshee, if you are they will smoke you, its all rider. about the maitenance, obviously they dont own banshee's so how would they know. Get one man, they are a hell of a lot of fun to ride.

Right on, my thoughts too....

If you know how to perform proper maintenance and upkeeping on a quad, you won't have any more problems out of a banshee than you would anything else. How well the banshee performs is depending on how well you take care of it...plain and simple.
