Percy
Hi there, I have heard some guys change the front wheels around, so the track is wider. I would have to put the valve on the other side to do this. Has anyone does this mod? and if so, is it worthwhile? Does have the wide front trach help and can I leave the back axle as is, if I change the front like this? Is moving the valve and puting the front wheels back on inside out the only change I need to make for this? Thanks Bruce
sredish
yea, that's the only thing you need to do. you can turn the valve stem inside out and then drill another hole and mount another valve stem there. it'll help with the stabililty. if you do a lot of hard jumping then you might wear some bearings a little faster due to the extra stress, but no big deal. Percy
Hi, thanks for the quick reply. I understand the stresses on the bearings will be greater and am wondering if it is worth doing this mod at all? I do a lot of trail riding, through quite tight forests etc and also a bit of jumping on the local track. I do not have spacers on the rear, so am wondering if having a wider front than rear is going to be very clever, especially in the forests? Maybe the wider track is good on sand, but not so good for where I ride. My bushes on the front A arms, are not in such good cond at present, I need to replace them sometime, so maybe the wide front will only make them worse? Thanks for any feedback. Cheers, Percy
locogato11283
for trail riding i wouldnt go any wider than +1 per side. if you flip the fronts im pretty sure youd be a lot wider than that.
