motoXfmX27
I dont know, if I'm posting this in the right area or not, but too bad, if I'm not. I just need some information on 3rd Degree Burns. I've looked on the internet and can't find any information or informative websites concerning 3rd Degree Burns. This weekend, around 9:00 p.m... my older brother Bryan...and a few people that I know...Levi,Blake, and Jon were in a really bad vehicle accident tonight around 9:00 p.m. Bryan...has 57% of his body burned in 3rd degree only Blake...has 53% of his body burned in 3rd degree only Levi...has 10% of his body burned in 2nd degree and around 9% of his body burned in 3rd degree. Jon...has just a few 2nd degree burns on his chest and leg. Bryan,Blake, and Levi were all lifeflighted to a Childrens Hospital and Burn Center. Jon was just took to a hospital in an ambulance, and is having burns treated, because they're not too bad. What I'm asking is, does anyone on this website know of any websites that I could find some information about 3RD Degree Burns. Someone just help and find a website, because I can't find any. Any help is appreicated. Sean.

Not 100% sure on that. **EDIT** found something hopefully its helpful http://www.burnsurvivor.com/burn_types_third.html **EDIT AGAIN** Hell heres the whole google search http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-...rd+degree+burns Edited September 27, 2004 by Cotton eyed Joe

Fireman-hott
Ok to add here from experience of treating burns at the mill. Few things to remember. Percentages are determined by the area of the body burned. I have my book at owrk otherwise I would quote what part yields what percent. Yes 57% may be covered by third degree burns. Although bad looking they are not painful as the nerves have been completely burned out. Secondly There will be 2nd and 1st degree burns radiating fom the third degree burns. So 57% may have been covered by third degree but how much more percentage is covered by the second and first degree. Not to be morbid, or the person relaying bad news, but if it was 57% covered in 3rd degree burns, and these medics on scene were accurate in the assessment. His chances of survival, along with the guy burned 53% in 3rd degree, is very very minimal. But, I can't really help you much more without knowing what parts were burned. I know off the top of my head that the head/neck/genitals are 10%. Good luck, your gonna need it.
