crbanshee
i have to say that im discusted with what i found this weekend out at superstition..trash loads and loads of trash..there was so much shit at the sand fingers at superstition that they were almost unridable..this is rediculious people why are there washers and refridgerators in the desert??? why is there so much broken glass you cant ride why are people so lazy they do this to our riding spots..it almost makes me want to sell my bike and become one of these yuppie assholes that are closing spots and trying to get these offroaders out of the deserts.. YOU ARE GIVING THESE ASSHOLES MORE AND MORE REASON TO CLOSE OUR DESERTS BY LEAVING THIS MUCH SHIT OUT IN THE DESERTS!!! now im thinking of puting together some desert clean up events. im going to ask the banshee hq members for support i want to know how many people would actualy show up to places like superstition, glamis, gordenswell, ocotillo and other places to help clean them up on a specific weekend..im going to try to get some big name places like motoworld, alba fmf thor all kinds of major industry mogals to help sponsor these events with free gear food drinks and maby if we can get enough people together im going to try to talk motoworld into selling raffle tickets to raffle off a brand new 2005 banshee..(im not sure how that would work yet but im working on it) so anyway i want to know what the HQ MEMBERS THINK and who would be willing to get out and help keep our deserts clean. please people lets get together and make a difference PACK IT IN PACK IT OUT AND YOU WILL ENJOY PLACES TO RIDE FOR YEARS TO COME..PACK IT IN AND LEAVE IT THERE YOU WILL ENJOY PLACES TO RIDE FOR THE DAY BUT NEXT TIME YOU GO THERE IT WILL BE CLOSED OR SO TRASHED YOU CANT RIDE..TAKE THE TIM E TO CLEAN UP THE DESERT AND LEAVE IT CLEAN FOR THE KIDS WE RAISE TODAY SEE OUR WAYS AND FOLLOW OUR LEAD..THINK OF THE DESERT FOR THEIR KIDS
brock_fuzzy_69
yeah i def agree with you on that one if i lived out that way i would be up for a cleenup day/weekend ride get together i def agree tho that assholes like that are how we lose our riding places i live in il and i dont think there is a single state riding place in the entire damned state and the states that have all the nice places to ride publically have people from al over coming there and screwing it up for them
fixitrod
I think it's a great idea. If I were closer I'd have my wife, kids and me out there. Maybe some family members to. You could sell bbq and have free drinks. The hard part would be advertising it. That's key for an event like that.
Banshee~
I agree with you too, theres some dune trips planned in the "Sand Forum" you might want to check out.Instead of raffling off a banshee we should take a percent of the amount raised and give that to the winner. Blue Duece
i smoked around my fav corner in the desert this weekend on the top of third, speed shifted to fourth and i was rims deep in some fucks box spings, 20 yards ahead was the engine block from a datsun b-210,with various assorted peices of shit on my trail....fuckers do need to stop littering, dropping junk and bullshit in the desert
ranshee
Bro, you name the time and place, and I will see what I can do about getting a few volunteers out there to help cleen up. I am also sick and tired of seeing shit piled up on our riding areas, but god damned, a frickin washer and refridg, thats ridiculous. I dont know what a lot of us are going to be able to do about big crap like that but we can do something about the small trash. Like I said, name the time and place, hopefully Gordons or Super, and I will see what I can do with our group Jared
BenBB
crbanshee I know just what you mean, and I think you are dead on about organizing a cleanup, excellent idea. If it wasn't a 12 hour drive for me I'd be there in a heartbeat, but don't let that stop you man, keep after it, it's definitely a good cause. Good luck and keep us posted. efward
People DO care dude. I guarantee it. I reposnded to the other thread on this topic to let you know about the existing MLK weekend Glamis Cleanup, but if you want to organize a separate one along with it. Rock on - I'll come out and help. Glamis could always use another cleanup... To be honest I think the best sponsor you could get would be a sanitation company. Somebody to donate the use of some 30' container style dumpsters and the services to haul them. At the MLK cleanup, I've driven my truck full of garbage bags up to Gecko to dump trash in the dumpsters but there is never enough room. I personally don't need free prizes to help out the dunes, I do it because it's I place I want my family to continue to enjoy for years to come, and there will always be knuckleheads who figure they can leave crap wherever they tread. PUSH THE THROTTLE
I wish I had the funds and time to go out there help clean up and then do some ridin', someday I'll make it out there and I'll definately clean up after myself. It's nice where I ride completely private no liter and the only stuff I have to worry about is the cow $hit, not many dunes though.
