fixitrod
Some people cut their stator plate holes and rotate it to advance their timing. I measured my new ricky stator plate and 4 degrees was 4.5 millimeters. Just so people know. I don't remember which side of the hole you'd need to make the slot though. Dangit. I'll have to check when I have time. I believe it was to the left though. That would allow you to turn the stator clockwise. Just look and see which way the flywheel turns and you'd know. super88_banshee
yes it is clockwise, we just cut the plate my shee last weekend. It wasn't a ton of extra power but it was definetly worth the time it took to do it and i didn't pay a dime
nater006
Yup, Ricky's page has a good pic of the plate he sells. You can see which way to rotate it. You can see the + and - signs pretty easily. http://www.rickystator.com/pages/Yamaha_Ba...ming_plate.html
ledofthezep
Here's a pick of my RS stock wattage stator on the adjustable plate; timing not set. Here's a pic of my old OEM stator & stock plate that went to hell after hardly no time at all. Not the best pic, but you can see the difference.
