fixitrod
Just wanted to let everyone know that just because a stator test good with a volt meter doesn't mean it is. I broke down at silverfest. My stator did read bad at first but I found a crack and fixed it. It then rode and it died again. Brought it back to the truck, tested the stator and it was good.............. so I thought. Mrmatt told me he had stators test good before and they were bad. He was dead on. I bought a ricky stator stator. It has an adjustable timing plate with it for only $125. Can't beat that. Just fyi so people don't chase their tales when diagnosing the electrical system... Well, I guess if it test good you may still chase your tale.

ledofthezep
Meat ran into the same problems before not too awful long ago if I remember correctly. But I hear ya,...I haven't had any issues with the RS stator on the adjustable plate yet after about 20hrs...but even still, I'd buy 2 of the RS stators before I buy another 300 oem stator. fixitrod
Black/Yellow it the light circuit. I don't have that number. I found the other two here on the hq. White/red to white/green is the pickup coil and should be 94-140 Ohms. Red to green is the ignition coil of the stator, should be 13.7-20.5 Ohms. fixitrod
Thx Rod That's what we're all here for. If we all shared our experiences... we'd all be a lot smarter. Edited September 27, 2004 by fixitrod
Oilsmoke
Wiseman is smart because he listens. To learn from anothers mistake without making your own to learn makes a wiseman. try teaching that to your kids . this is one of my favorites.
