trialsallday
so i was gettin ready to enter this great sand pit area with lots of little trails and shouts with soft sand that everyones been riding for years. i just got into this sport less than a year ago. there was a pick up with 2 quads and a dirtbike gettin loaded up. the guys said "dont go down there" theres ana a-hole that doesnt want anyone there anymore, ssays hes the land owner and there gonna develope it. THey told me to just blow by him if he waved his arms and cut back into the power lines were your safe. so off i went though its not my style to blow by people who are trying to kick me out . i more or less wanted to here the truth for my self. so i came acrsoss the corner only to be face to face with the land owner and the environmental police who checked if i was registered which i was. to be honest with you i was friendly with them and they were friendly with me. They did say theres no more riding in the area cuz of liabilities and all. and that there gonna devolpe it and so on and so forth. i told him i understand and ill respect that and off i went back home. this is a big play area that you HAVE TOO cross to get back to the powerlines to get to other places now im screwed i gotta find alternative roots or new places to ride. i was so pissed today i wanted to throw up. all this money invested in machines and were lossenare riding areas little by little. I know someday ill need a duel sport so i can ride from my house to diffrent locations and hit trails and ride public roads home with plates blinkers and all. PolyKarbon
At least you understood his point of view and didn't act like a little baby. Maybe that will make people thinks twice about riders in general. I still prolly would have thrown roost in his face, but then again, Im a little baby. ehall1
just an idea but make sure the land really is his. go to the local clerk and ask for a copy of the property deed. im sayin this cause a guy neighboring a place we ride told the D.E.C. it was his and didnt want no bikes quads ect., on it, so we checked and it wasnt his. we contacted the local owner and asked him if we'd check and fix his farms barbed wire fence once a year or so if we could ride he said we coulda rode anyway as long as we kept er clean, but i already offered so ill be doin fence maintenance soon but thats cool. this also works great for hunting snowmobiling and fishing privelages. help out these guys with fence repair, snow plowing, mowing lawns ect., and youd be suprised who'll let you use their land. we've got access to at least 1300 acres within a mile for maybe two days work tops. sounds like a bargain to me. just my $.02 Ed
crbanshee
people are trying to kick off roaders in general out dosnt matter if you drive a 4wd jeep a cr 125 or a banshee it all comes down to respecting the land you ride..i own a good size chunk of land with some great riding and a kick ass fishing hole and i wont let anyone ride or fish unless im there..how ever there is one guy that i will let hunt fish ride or camp if he wants and the only reason is that i went to kick him out of the fishing hole and he had 2 kids with him i noticed that each one of them had a bag about half full of trash that they collected and were taking off my land..that ment alot to me that this man had told his 2 sons that b4 they could fish they had to do some cleaning up around the pond..like some one said b4 its amazing what land owners will do if they get the respect they want..in my case i hate litter bugs and the only reason this guy is using my land is because he awlys takes out more than he brings in. tsuther78
I had the same problem. The only place that is close to ride got bought out by a new owner. They waited till I got the shee unloaded. As I was warming it up 2 cop cars came up and asked to see my sticker. After telling me that they can take the banshee cause the sticker was not in the proper place, they told me I had to have the owners permission to ride there. When I asked for the address I was told no. My friends went down there the next week to find that 23 quads and bikes were being put onto a couple of flatbeds. Oh and dont try to park at the gas station and ride the quad in, cause the cops are posted up in the hills on quads of their own. Only bad thing is now I have to drive over an hour to go to a place that is legal to ride. Which I just found out is going to be closed also. All cause some dumbass marines wanted to play with fire and burned half the place down. So now its gonna be a 2 hour drive. Hardly worth it anymore.
