Do you gotta be a millonare to own a shee

Recommended Posts

I agree with everyone else, maintenance is a must...I rebuilt my entire engine when I got mine just so I knew what was in there and that it was done right. I take my shee through some of the nastiest spots Memphis has to offer and have had no problems with it at all. Been running strong for just about 2 years now, riding roughly 14 hours a month. Your banshee is only as good as you put it together!!!

I honestly just dont have the money for my banshee anymore, bought it in june had a solid month of riding no one could come near me in a race.......i paid 3200 for it now what do i do sell it as a peice of junk and get 2000 fix it and loose 1000 bucks that i dont have what does a shee rider do in this situation

Suck it up and drive on man. Take the time to explore alternative resources for what you need (ebay, buddies, HQers), draw from other people's experience here to find out what went wrong and prevent it from happening again, and get back out there and keep kicking ass...

That is if you still want to be out front, otherwise join the ranks of the rest of the pusses and succomb to the lure of the dark side, the easy way out, the mindless sheep that have more money than sense and wouldn't know a wrist pin from a cat turd...your typical shiny 4-choke rider that takes his ride to the dealership to change the oil (yeah I know not every thumper rider is like that, there are hard-core guys in every circle but the vast majority are wanna-be's).

Bansheeman Don't listen to the Asshole replys and sort the good replys out.

there is alot of help here if you what it.

Sounds like the jetting is little to lean and you burned it down. Piston seizure,

Did you check your jetting after the first time.if you didn't than that could be why you lost it agian. Jetting a 2stroke is Key to not waste money.

Why did you say you needed new Carbs?

Don't listen to these guys, dont fix it, get a raptor, youll love one of them then once a week you can put a mower deck on it and mow you lawn too. anyway the shee isn't worth fixin. Its worth $400. where do ya live Ill be down with the $500 and Ill get ya out of this mess. Then you can put my $500 down on a new raptor :D:shootself:

I change my tranny oil every two or three rides. I clean my airfilter every two to three rides. I clean my chain regularly and lube it. I even take all her plastics off to wash her. AND I LOVE EVERY MINUTE!

I also, put in new plugs every 4 to 5 rides.

All because I want her to last forever! I want to go from stock to a 1 over to 2 over and end up with a big bore.

In fact I bought the shee for that very reason. I love taking care of 2 strokes.

My buddy on the other hand. Didnt want to deal with rebuilds....so he went and bought a 4 stroke.

He is always getting on me, why you take so long, why does your bike require so much TLC?

I Like it, in fact I Love the fact that if I dont maintain it, it will go to shit.

Which tells me that all the hard work is worth it.

Hang out in a WalMart parking lot. You'll find some cash layin around eventually.

My sister stepped on a $100 in the parking lot a couple weeks ago. I know....what the hell is someone that has $100 doing at a WalMart....

Buying the whole store?

I found at a fifty in the Walmart parking lot last week and I thought that was alot of money to be finding anywhere near there.

I agree 100% with ya tats. what gets me is people buy a banshee or any other two stroke atv,and they have know idea what the f*ck there doing.BUY a fucking BOOK.these machines are simple as shit to get running properly, all it takes is a little attention to it and some THOUGHT on what your doing.these are not a put a key in it and go machines ( I.E.four strokes)like some one else said ,you get out what you put into it.

THINK PEOPLE PLEASE banghead

YES or as close to one as you can get.

get in there tats! thats exactly what i was thinking when i read his first post!

iv have my shee for 2 years now and yeah, it does piss me right off when it breaks or doesnt go right but i take a break and chill over a joint while talking to race buddies. it calms me down quick! i have landed myself a bloody good job in agriculture now and i, just today, got a fantastic deal on a yfz450........so i bought it.

although the shee has given me a bit of hell im still keeping it. it helped me get into quads, it helped me start my racing and has become more than a part of my life!

these things take time, love, patience and money and if you dont have the first 3 things, why bother!!!

sorry for getting at you but if your wanting to give up that easy you werent ment for a 2 stroke! just hang in there, have a break like locogato said and when you feel ready go back to it. good luck man, hope everything goes well!

Just liek to begin saying theres more asshole posts than helpful ones, You have no idea how i take care of my quad, i bought the quad knowing they require maintence it dosnt bother me to buy amsoil for 10 bucks a quart or clean the airfilter after every ride, what gets me is, i just rebuild it did all the work myself everything was put in perfect, it ran great now it runs on 1 cylinder and if you hit the gas the other one will fire up, and the one that actualy fires pours oil like crazy out the pipe, and the one that only fires half the time smokes like a chimney, i dont have enough money to buy a crank and i dont no how to split the case, its either the crank seals or the carbs causing the problems the carbs are jetted perect and synched, cleaned so i have no idea whats wrong with it, my freind are up on there bikes i cant go with them becuase my banshee never runs i could always take the foreman out but its slow as sh#t, so what i think im gonna do is buy a cr 85r and ride it and rebuild as much of thre banshee as i can afford over the winter but from what info i put on here what could be cuasin the banshee to do that

Mine did the same thing, then it just kind of exploded into a huge mess. I bought a clymer manual for $35 and tore the entire thing down to tranny and worked back up replacing everything that needed to be replaced. I am up to the top end now, and saving up that last $200 or so for the new 80 over top end and a new set of wrist pin bearings. These motors are really simple to tear down. Just buy a damn clymer for $35 and figure out whats wrong for yourself and fix it. The kid who owned mine before me had about 5 different kinds of bolts and nuts in the damn thing, some of them were even standard, not metric. It pissed me off so much when I found that. The parts you need to fix one of these things are so cheap, there is no reason not to do it yourself. If you can't handle fixing and tuning trade it for a 4-stroke. I have both, and even a 4-stroke will require maintenance if you don't take care of it. I am working on my warrior right now with a valve/timing problem. They are just a machine, you have to take care of them.
