It doesn't get hot enough to burn the pipes but it burns the carbon build up out and makes the chrome look brand new after you brush them off! Easy Off is designed for this purpose... removing baked on grease... and it works very well. You can get it for $1 at any discount store. I was out ridin lil Sahara one night and I saw a glow in the distance, upon further investigation there was about 3 or 4 quads roostin flames... They poured the race gas on the sand, lite it on fire, then these guys would take turn pulling into the fire and dumping the clutch.
