PUSH THE THROTTLE
http://www.kare11.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=69711 Can you really do that on a 1000cc motorcycle when I heard the story I figured it was a Busa but it's not. I don't know too much about motorcycles but that's haulin' a$$. Edited September 22, 2004 by PUSH THE THROTTLE
J.J.
I have my doubts... In this case Tilley was clocked over the entire distance of one mile in 4.39 seconds. That is an average speed of 205 miles per hour. I calculate it as follows: 1 mile in 4.39 seconds = 13.667 miles per minute = 820.04 miles per hour.... ha ha ha Edited September 22, 2004 by J.J. The news said 204 last night, I just read the article now. Edited September 22, 2004 by PUSH THE THROTTLE

banshdog
When I had my bike, I would get up in the 120's with my girl on the back. Fastest i ever went alone was 139. and that was on a 600, but 204 mph! I cant imagine what that would be like, if possible at all.
bird213
My personal best was on my ole' 900RR @ 154MPH... You have to experience that feeling to know it. It felt like a wind tunnel looks while a car is being tested, a NASCAR! I miss my bike, but old ladies cannot pull out in front of me on my banshee! By the way, the kid was arrested... Where does a 20/yr old get the $$$ for that bike?

stclark04
around here, going over 100 miles an hour is grounds for being a arrested, no question. sounds kinda fishy to me.
FireHead
I don't know why the kid wasn't arrested. The Honda RC51 in full factory race trim is capable of speeds around 237 mph with a professional rider. However this just sounds like another screwy new story. Westro
It was also on the radio talk this morning here in MN. sounds like it was a very pumped up Honda 1000cc. And the air patrol got him at 205mph and 190mph. So he was up around 200 mph! Also the guy with him got a ticket for 111mph. And here in MN you don't get hauled directly to jail but he will have a court date. I can't imagine 200mph, I guess those cops kids have some $$. rebelbanshee2
a litre bike could do it if it was pumped up alittle and had the speed limiter removed..all the factrories limit their bikes to 300kmh which is 186. either way 204 is freaking hauling... Where does a 20/yr old get the $$$ for that bike? Doesn't take much for anyone to get a loan and those bikes aren't that expensive. You can get a mildly (intake, ignition, exhaust) modified one for <$8000 easily, used.
tats4life
i hit 180 on my 04 zx-10r and rolled of the throttle real smoooooth. i could do a stand up wheelie at 143 easily in 4th gear. yes a 1000cc street bike can do over 200 just have to get it re maped and the rev limiter bumped up by about 3 grand.
