Ultimateduner
I recentally decided to do so motor mods on my banshee. I was wondering if the v force reeds are worth the money. A long with them I plan on getting porting and carbs done. Also I ride in sand.
racer
sure are especially if youre gettin some new ones anyways. i saw your other post and if you are gonna port it i would get 33's. but i guess it depends on your riding style. roosthrower
you will benifet more from a larger set of carbs than you would putting on some vforce cages.
2Smoker
Everything I read about them makes me think they are a ton of money and for the money you're spending you're better going with boyesen or fmf reeds that bolt on to the stock reed cages. It's all about the money you want to spend.
Ultimateduner
Yeah I'm considering the fmf reeds
a&sbanshee
in my opinion v-forces are a waste of money just send your stock cages to a builder and have them ported and put u a set of carbon fiber reeds on them we have run both in our drag bikes and have seen no difference in numbers at the track however there is a chance that the v-force's build a lil more hp but not enough to make a difference
Ultimateduner
I have a limited budget so would getting the fmf ones be a better choice. Maybe in the future I will consider seeding them to someone.
Nightrider
IMO,they are money well spent.I mostly trail ride and they can really help overcome a taller gear and running a top-end pipe.If your trail riding, there a good bang for the buck. I made the mistake of buying PC pipes for the trail, but the V-force made the pipes more trail friendly.
Ultimateduner
I mostly dune with my banshee. So trail performance won't be the best bet
MotulMonsta
Don't listen to these rookies! V-force reeds are a bit pricey at about 230 bones..but they are worth their weight in gold. They Improve throttle response all around and gives you a much crisper feel. Expect to pay more for quality goods. I've had the same set of reeds installed in my V-force 2's for close to three years now and they have yet to let me down.
blk02banshee
Mine work great at the dunes. I agree 100% with Nightrider and MotulMonsta
a&sbanshee
like i said i did a test on them at the drag strip on a consistant 7.0 bike and it made no difference at all in times and very lil in mph so in my opinion why waste the money but the again what do i know
Ducman
Something to cosider. If you ride in the doons and you get a doon port, emphasis on top end then you'll probably want a bigger set of carbs. Lets say you get bigger carbs, now you will need to connect them to the reed cage so you will want to get a manifold with boots that fit the bigger carb, lets say prodesign, add $200. Well now you can choose the prodesing that is made for v-force reeds, or one for a stock style reed cage. Well if you always thought you wanted a set of V-force reed cages aventually and don't want to exclude them from working ag good on your shee by getting the stock style manifold, might as well add them to the credit card while your at it. add $230 Shit! You just spent $800 on carbs, boots, throttle cable, twist throttle, jets, manifold, reeds. Oh wait, sorry I was talking about myself again! Is there a link to a 12 step program on the banshee forum? Cause all my money keeps going I can quit any time I want, right now I just dont feel like quitting!
ehall1
the only way you can quit is to admit you have a problem!!! i see no problem there Ed
Blue Duece
like i said i did a test on them at the drag strip on a consistant 7.0 bike and it made no difference at all in times and very lil in mph so in my opinion why waste the money but the again what do i know you dont need them to drag, ride something tight where your on and off the pipe, and youll notice the diff right off the bat.....id hate to see how shitty my bike ran with a set of ported cages
