tsuther78
Well me and the boys cant make up our minds on what to do this Nov. We want to take the quads out, but we also want to take the jet skis out. I am in San Diego. Does anyone know of any lakes around the area where you can have the ski's and the quad's right there next to each other??? I know that there is Lake Martinez in Yuma, but there is no place to camp there. Plus you have to drive 20 mins to get to the dunes. Than there is Havasu. But I am not sure about a 6 hour drive for a little 3 day trip. Any help would be appericiated.
evil
i think your sol bud. most places dont allow atv's by the water. try looking at mabey gorman and pyramid lake, or castaic. there close but you cant ride atv's by the water or on that land. i know isabella has a spot you can, but sometimes the rangers trip and make you stop but then its about a 7 hour drive from the sd area. Otis
take a road trip to Las Vegas. bring the ski's and the quads. Lake mead, and Nellis dunes arn't all that far apart from each other.... It's not SoCal, but.....
Wallrat
Bahia Santa Maria, about 20 minutes south of San Felipe. Less than 2.5 hours south of the border. Nice little bay, no rules, free camping, ride on the beach, wakeboard behind the quad...whatever you want. God I love Mexico!
SDD
Pismo is about the best bet... camp on the beach and ride the dunes or jump on the jet ski and ride the ocean.
watkins
Well. you could look into Havasu on the Indian Reservation side.. you can offroad right night to the lake and there are some cool trails back in the canyons. I'd double check though because its been over 5 years since I have been there.
tsuther78
Thanks for all the info. See we were thinking Havasu also. But that is pretty far. As far as Pismo goes, I have no problem putting the ski's in the ocean. But my friend is scared to put his boat in it. So that is out of the question. That will bring the same problem to the mexico trip. Mexico is great though for that. Hahaha. Plus the booze is cheaper.
Wallrat
Bahia Santa Maria is on the Gulf of California side. No waves to deal with at least.
watkins
Havasu is the place to go while the water is still warm. But like you said it is a little bit of a drive (4 hours or so).
sheeweet
Tell your pussy friend with the boat to take Mexico or leave it. Tell him to have fun at home looking at his boat parked on the trailer. That Mexico idea sounds awesome.
tsuther78
Screw it, we all decided that we are going to Pismo. Its going to be the 1st weekend in Nov if anyone wants to go. Now we will just see if he quits being a bitch and throws his boat in the big bad ocean. I know that my ski is going in.
